Title: Ain't nothing like the real thing baby...
Post by: UncleBob on January 07, 2010, 12:58:35 AM
To continue an eariler topic (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=28804), Pepsi has brought back their Throwback lineup with Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback.  If you didn't like the MD last time, try it again.  They've tweaked the formula this time and it's much better.  Added to the mix, in the right markets, is Heritage Dr Pepper.  It's soooo tasty.  And... I just found out that the closest Sam's Club carries MEXICAN COKE!  WHOOOOO!!!!

I can die a happy man.  (And probably will from drinking all this soda!)

Where do you score Heritage Dr. Pepper?

Where do you score Heritage Dr. Pepper?

It's a tricky one.

First, you have to live in a market covered by a Pepsi bottler that is participating in the Throwback Promotion.  Second, you have to also live in a market where the Pepsi bottler has the rights for Dr Pepper.  Since not all Pepsi Bottlers are making Throwback and Coke has the Dr Pepper rights in some markets, you may just be out of luck.  If you happen to live in one of the sacred areas, you should be able to find Heritage Dr Pepper anyplace that has Throwback...

Of course, you could always order some Dublin Dr Pepper (http://www.olddocs.com/product.aspx?id=174&up1=0&up2=0&up3=0&cat=Drinks&subcat1=Dr%20Pepper&subcat2=Made%20with%20Sugar)

Dr. Pepper and 7up have their own bottler and distributor here in the Northwest.

God dammit I simply can find Mountain Dew Throwback anymore anywhere. I gave up, thought they removed it.

I just found some yesterday, it's excellent stuff.  I found mine at Walmart.  And I get my Mexican coke from Woodman's.

Where do they sell these things?  Nobody I've talked to has ever seen them in stores (VA or CA).

You can get Dr. Pepper from either Coke or Pepsi here sometimes.

I might have to check for that Dr. Pepper, I'm sometimes in the mood for that soft drink.

Got some Pepsi and Mountain Dew tonight. Pepsi is incredible, Mountain still seems to be missing something. I will have to try it extremely chilled.

It's too bad Pepsi sucks to begin with. I can't imagine Pepsi Throwback being any better. Mountain Dew, on the other hand, the white trash beverage of choice, is great.

I get my car washed an unnecessary amount of times each month just 'cause it's the only place I know where to find Mexican Coke.

i can pretty much always get Mexican coke, but as soon as i saw the throwback pepsi i jumped on it immediately..i havbe to say is Throwback pepsi is very temperature affect..in that you cant drink it if its mildly cold, otherwise it tastes like sugar water or even diet aspertane crap...only when its really cold does the kola flavor come out amd thats when it tastes really good. Mountain Dew throwback is amazing super chilled or not, the lady at the store said she didn't like it..maybe she had an earlier version.

also, if you cant find it, ask if they have it in the back. When i bought my Pepsi Throwback it was 3.50 for a 12 pack, 2 days later the 12 pack was gone so my mom and i went to get some more, they were no where to be seen. They put the boxes in the back, and the price went up to 4 dollars or so. Thats when we got our mountain dew too, because i didn't get the mountain dew throwback the first time.

I just bought some Throwback Mountain Dew and Heritage Dr. Pepper, but I'm not going to drink it until tomorrow. 150 calories in the DP, and 170 in the MD.

I tried some of the Throwback Mountain Dew and was not impressed, I didn't really notice a major difference.  I tried Pepsi Throwback, and it was better, but not by too substantial an amount.  All in all, this campaign is a good way to turn heads away from Coke and back on Pepsi for a bit, even if things are slightly better.

I never liked Dr. Pepper, so I didn't have any of that stuff, even though my roommate bought some.
