Title: DSi LL a A "Must Purchase" for 30 and 40-Year-Olds in Japan

A recent survey reveals interesting information regarding the recently released DSi model.

 According to a survey conducted by Japanese group Orimo, purchase intent for the DSi LL is high among 30 and 40 year old consumers.    


Out of 416 consumers that participated in the survey, 28.3 percent of males in their 30s and 24.5 percent of females in their 30s had intentions of purchasing the handheld. The highest number, however, came from consumers in their 40s; 31.7 percent were interested in purchasing the DSi LL.    


This new DSi model is aimed at an older demographic, and the survey seems to confirm that it is hitting the mark.

Healthy, 20-year old eyes cannot possibly appreciate the benefits of a larger screen. Just the increase in size from the DS light to the DSi has made it possible for me to play games I could not before. I play a lot of puzzle type games with my 48-year old eyes, and my mother plays her DSi daily (she just turned 70 this year).

Here I am just shy of my 28th birthday and 30 year olds are being lumped in with people in their 40's.  Way to make me feel old.

Well **** that.  I don't need your shitty pixelated screen... and I even wear glasses!  So HA!

I would however appreciate the ability to play DS games on my TV.  Hint hint.

True that. I'm turning 29 in about two months and I don't want increased PPI!

I bought a Droid. It has the tiniest pixels like... evar.  Everything else looks like 20 years ago to me now... EVEN MY IPOD TOUCH.

I never thought the increase in screen size from the DS/DS Lite to the DSi would mean that much.  But after using my DSi for the past several months, when I tried going back to my regular DS the screen seemed cramped.  I still think the screen in the DSi XL is just too damn big for the resolution, but maybe I'm wrong.

Actually they say your body starts destroying more cells than it replaces by about age 25. You're already part of the rotting demographic.

Even though I still have excellent vision, there is a level of comfort you get from a bigger screen. For example, I could only get a score of a C playing a certain level of Umbrella Chronicles on a 26" screen.  I hooked my system up to a 60" screen and easily got an A on the same level.

That seems about right.  Since then I've noticed little things like small wrinkles under the eyes, a slight double chin that NEVER goes away regardless of what shape I'm in, back hair, and worst of all THINNING HAIR at the crown.  I noticed THAT for the first time earlier this year and it was not a joyful event.  No greys yet but I'd gladly have a head full of a grey hair then a brown comb over.
 
In retrospect I LOVED 24.  That was an awesome year.  You're old enough that people don't treat you like a kid and there's no real restrictions in life.  But you're young enough that there isn't really any non-minor age range that is inappropriate for you to date and you can act like a kid and still get away with it.  No one gets on you about marriage or kids or owning your own place or having a real career but at the same time you're old enough that you can have some or all of those things and it's considered normal.

Hey, I'm almost 30 and I'm still waiting on full scale facial hair.
I can't grow a full beard and I only have to shave maybe once a week.

To all you old people past 24:  your minds can't possibly wrap themselves around all this fancy tech, so stop asking for "better" higher-highest tech stuff, you're OLD.

To Nintendo:  where is the DS that'll cater to the deaf/blind/hairy-palmed?
