I actually think infinite spin gives the player an edge. I managed to get to level 55 on that game and make like 2 million points on infinite marathon one day. Several times I almost died and I survived because of this spinning mechanic. in other Tetris games the game would become IMPOSSIBLE for a human to react. This evens up the playing field. I consider it a major set up. I equal it to holding/switching blocks.
With all of the various incarnations of Tetris, there really isn't much else they can do with the concept in 2D.
With all of the various incarnations of Tetris, there really isn't much else they can do with the concept in 2D. I think it's time to go back to exploring the third dimension. Tetrisphere for the Nintendo 64 is the best puzzle game ever, and there's still so much more they could do with it especially on the Wii.
