Title: Ok, team-funhouse
Post by: nickmitch on July 18, 2009, 09:27:29 PM
Party tonight.  It's "cosmopolitan" dress.  I tried Google and Bing, but I'm unsure as to WTF that means.

Please help.

I think you need to wear a designer dress and call yourself either Samantha or Carrie.

Q: What is cosmopolitan attire?

A: Sophisticated and polished...not quite "cocktail-fancy"

BAM! First try, baby. I'd judt try to look slick. I also would try for more low key pieces; nothing flashy or gaudy.

I think that would fit. Try to find a jacket with pinstripes. I think pinstripes are classy.

This is what I have in mind. Though it might be a bit too nice for you. But I think it is swell.

That's Neapolitan. It means you're going to a sausage party, btw, and I'm not talking Jimmy Dean. Maybe.

Hey, I'll throw an answer out there too. I'd expect to see someone selling tupperware. Its very cosmo to use tupperware these days.

New question:

Zelda Symphony is in Baltimore next month, and I just bought tickets. So, what's the dress code? It's a fancy place, but it's an event for nerds. I still have time to purchase a tux (which I was already meaning to do).

Wear a nice shirt with a dark jacket and slacks. Keep a video game related neck tie that goes with the outfit in your pocket just in case you need to step it up a notch. Remove the jacket to go more casual.

If you want to look a little more hip, grow out your facial hair for a couple days then trim it down to stubble.

I don't have any videogame related neck ties.

Don't worry about your dress. When I went I was in a t-shirt and jeans because I'd come straight from E3 and no one batted an eye.
