Title: Poll TIME get!
Post by: BwrJim! on July 17, 2009, 02:17:41 PM
Well, its that time.. Time to see what type of businesses could contribute to the Wii platform in order to bring a more diverse demographic of games to the public.

I of course voted for Capcom and its Tsunoko vs Capcom.  Why?  After talking quite a bit to Seth and Sven, I could honestly say I am would like to see the companies mind set up a little bit.   While they have supported the console, they still remain a bit gun shy.  While that's understood, a success story with this title would help them support even more.  Its already awesome that they listened to fan outcry for both SFIV (being made was from the outcry from America) to Tsunoko vs Capcom making its way over.   So while the demand is causing them to do things right, I would like for them to be more open minded.

I would like to see this so that the corporate structure put more and more faith into the plateform and its employees!.  Capcom is become the best fan service company out there, and success stories could only drive it more!

Never heard of "Tsunoko" vs. Capcom, I assume you meatn Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I voted for that only because I want similar cross-licensed games to be brought over here (i'm looking at you Nintendo with "Jump Super Stars" and "Jump Ultimate Stars").

I also want The Conduit to do well, it's nice to see a FPS built specifically for the Wii that is also a great game.

Conduit FTW!

If I could pick a second it would be Red Steel. I want the first exclusive M+ game to prove that the Wii userbase has taken kindly to the accessory.

There of course could be a few others I didnt mention, like the Final Fantasy The Crystal Bearers, Spyborgs and so on.

The Conduit.

T vs Capcom is a very niche title.
Red Steel already was a hit, but I'm not sure if 2 will be worth while. Yeah WM+ support but no multiplayer so it better be 30 hours to justify itself.

I don't think a single game will influence a more diverse demographic to flock to Wii, nor should it.
Besides, somehow I doubt the sales of The Conduit will convince any publisher of anything. They'll find any excuse to not release games on Wii so I'm sure they'll just pass it off as a fluke or something.

This is a horrible poll.

I say the Conduit, given the 3 choices. First - Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a crazy Japanese game that no one expects to sell well in the US, and certainly isn't going to sell any systems. Secondly, I'm disappointed with the direction that Red Steel 2 is headed - it shouldn't even be called RS2, since it has absolutely nothing to do with the first game, and looks more like a Mad Max with swords game (not that such a game wouldn't be awesome, it's just not a sequel to Red Steel). The Conduit had a ton of hype, and really needs to live up to it's sales expectations - despite the game's flaws.

It says which games I would like to see a success but then I can only choose one game. I chose Odama New Play Controls.

Red Steel 2... Developers need a game as an example to show that Wii Motion Plus is a accessory that works well, and is a good money maker. If Red Steel 2 does well, i am sure we can expect to see a lot more content like it.

I don't think any of these games would have any significant effect on Wii third party support.  All three of them only stand out on the Wii due to a lack of anything else.  They're not GOTY contenders.  They would be scraps on the other consoles.  So their success would not help anything.  We need a big GOTY third party game that would be a big deal on any console to be a HUGE success on the Wii.  If we want third parties to consider the Wii their target platform for their A titles then we need an A title to be a huge smash to set the trend.

I would vote Dragon Quest X if it was on the list.  And I want that game to sell above and beyond expectations in both Japan and North America.  I want it to be not only a huge success but so much so that it is obvious that it could NEVER have acheived those sales on the other consoles.  Third parties need to think that releasing a game on the Wii is more worthwhile than releasing a multiplatform game on the PS3/X360/PC.
