According to Retro Studios recently-created Twitter, they will be revealing or announcing something later today.
This will most likely be the game they have been working on since Metroid Prime 3 wrapped up in 2007. It is unknown what it is, but there has been a rumor that it could be a new Legend of Zelda game.
Below is the Twitter post in its full entirety:
"We think you guys will be pleasantly surprised in just a few hours :)"
EDIT: This appears to have been a hoax.
Why is this a blog entry and not a news post?
My heart skipped a beat. Like I seriously had a similar reaction to seeing this on the front page as I have had when falling in love. That's kinda fucked up.
But it just goes to show that Retro is where it's at for me with Nintendo. They're the devs I have the most faith in. I'm very excited about all this. Just the existence of this makes this E3 better than last year's.
IGN also said that Factor 5 was making Kid Icarus and/or Pilotwings, which is obviously BS as they would still exist if Nintendo was funding that.
Did anyone ever confirm that the Retro Twitter was even a Retro twitter?
WHEN WILL THEN BE NOW??
well it was just started prior to E3. It could be anybody.
I'm hoping Retro is too busy to have time to twitter.

Anyone can twitter from the toilet, so i hope they're not THAT busy that they can't even take bathroom breaks!

I would assume they use that time to reflect on life, or read up on current events.
It's several hours later and I AM pleasantly surprised. :)
They are porting Prime 3 to the Wii w/ M+ support.

Haha, no. MotionPlus won't do anything to enhance Metroid Prime 3 or any shooter games.
The usefulness for shooters and Motion+ would be to retain the reticles position even when you are pointing of screen. It would make for a significantely nicer seamless experience.

Hmmm I don't think it will enhance pure shooters, but only FPShooter/FPSlasher like Red Steel 2 which has a big emphasis on combining both ranged and melee weapons and switching through both styles seemlessly. The only way your situation would work is if you're not pointing at the screen or if you're covering the Wii Remote's IR camera, but really what's the point? The IR camera is very sensitive and it doesn't need anything else to supplement it.
Heck, even Metroid: Other M won't support Wii MotionPlus (http://e3.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/696241/Why-Metroid-The-Other-M-Wont-Be-Supporting-MotionPlus.html).
I also don't think WMP is useful for straight FPSes. What confuses me though is why FPSes on the Wii insist on mappng reload to a button or Nunchuk shake when the Wiimote movement worked perfectly in Onslaught. It just feels way more natural to move your "gun" to reload.
seriously, as requiem I wrote about that all the time

I learned something today.
Ohhh 2 wiimotes w/ m+
I can imagine the possibilities of a dual M+ DQSwords 2
one hand shield other hand sword.
Stogi: I wasn't aware. It seemed like Requiem was silent for a long time before your reborn-name became prominent.
