Title: Mythbusters...
Post by: BlackNMild2k1 on May 29, 2009, 09:49:41 PM
was just at my moms work this week.
She works on a naval base here in the Bay Area and they were filming something involving covering a car in clay and then putting a bunch of golfball like divets all over it and seeing if that adds to the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

I have no idea when or if it is gonna air, but I just thought I would share.

I haven't had cable since January 2008, MythBusters is one of the few shows I miss as I loved it. I've been thinking about downloading episodes on a torrent site since I miss watching it so much.

I like how they always tell you not to try the stuff at home even when they aren't doing anything dangerous.

Once when there was a power outage and I was really bored, I tried out one of their myths. I put together two phone books by alternating the pages together, which can't be pulled apart (well, not unless you have two tanks anyway...). I won a few bets by challenging people to pull it apart... you'd think it wouldn't be so difficult but somehow it stays together.

I get a kick watching their shenanigans. A lot of the shows on discovery channel really suck me in no matter what, Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, Mythbusters. I love them all.

Interestingly, once saw the episode where they busted the pickup truck back hatch fuel efficiency myth I don't recall ever seeing a truck driving with the hatch down. I guess word spreads around fast when it has to do with mileage.

How has no one yet mentioned how HOT (http://www.fhmus.com/site/content/article.aspx?ID=35771) Kari Byron is??

She's attractive, smart, funny* and even has an artistic side!

Quote from: Wikipedia
She became involved in the show after persistently showing up at Hyneman's M5 Industries workshop in a desire to get hired at his company. On her first day as a paid employee, she was asked by Jamie and MythBusters producer Peter Rees to help out with the "vacuum plane toilet" myth, and she was asked to model her buttocks for a cast: a job which would later have her comment (jokingly) that she was hired "for her butt".[2] She was given a more prominent role in the show starting with its second season.

She was definitely on my Top 10 actual red head list.
Near the top for a while too.

The thing about this show is...they ran out of actual "myths" a loooong time ago.

Yeah but Kari is still easy on the eyes, so why not keep watching? Everyone else is entertaining too.

No they haven't, I've been trying to submit one since season 1. I can't get on their stupid forum to post it, and when I did get to log in, it woulnd't let me post it.

The myth was about learning in your sleep by playing a tape over and over again.

I'm pretty sure i saw them do something like that, but it might of been something similar.

I love the themed episodes (like the Alaska Special, James Bond special, Jaws special, etc.).
