In the latest Nintendo Power issue, the game's creative director, Jason Vandenberghe, said in an interview, "I would love to say to you that it'll be compatible with just a regular controller, but the gameplay simply isn't there without MotionPlus. That core experience just isn't there without it."
In the same interview, Vandenberghe revealed that the company is taking a huge risk making this decision, since Ubisoft can't predict the penetration rate of the Wii MotionPlus and can only assume that it will be high.
They have WSR, TW2010 & Red Steel
thats 3 different games from 3 different publishers for 3 different targets which equals 3 different pack-ins & 3 remotes covered
All we need is a 4th game to pack M+ into from a different publisher, different game type aimed at a different type of gamer and we are all set.
Funny I thought many people here and elsewhere enjoyed games like Wii Sports. Sounds like they will end falling into the same "market" anyway. Then again this is retreading the tired and asinine core vs casual argument. After 2.5yrs my mom just discovered Baseball and Golf on WiiSports. She still plays WiiPlay and occasionally play WiiFit. WSR should be right up her alley, but I'm gonna try and get her into GST & TW2010 since she loves tennis & likes golf.
I'm fairly confident Nintendo will package the Wii Motion plus with Red Steel . 4 games packed in is enough. Its only 4 games if you count GST in Europe along with TW2010 in US, other wise i don't think any region is getting more than 3 M+ bundles.
I hope the Wii MotionPlus support ramps up. So far we have Virtual Tennis 09, Grand Slam Tennis, Tiger Woods 10, Wii Sports Resort, and now Red Steel 2. I have a feeling E3 will have some nice Wii news.

Good news because I want to see games built around Wii motion plus just not "Well we have that option if you want it".
I'm hoping E3 reveals atleast 5 more M+ games from 3rd party publishers and 2-3 more from Nintendo themselves.
Nintendo has been working on M+ for atleast 2 years now so WSR can't be the only thing they have going & in playable/showable form.
3rd parties have had a little less than a year to get some ideas in showable form in atleast.
WSR will just teach us how to slice & dice so we're ready for a real juicy Red Steak 2. Mmm Mmm Mmm, I can't wait.
I think Red Steel 2 will be multiplatform
I think bundling should depend on how many games have already been bundled with the WMP by the time RS2 comes out (obviously a bundle would be sold in addition too the standalone game), if it's reasonable to expect everyone to have a WMP by then a bundle might just clutter the shelves.
Wii Sports is already the highest selling game of all time
In Japan, the Monster Hunter G starter pack which includes a Classic Controller is the top selling SKU since the game requires a classic controller.
I still think that a bundle will be required, since a company can't assume that each potential buyer will have the accessory.

You do realize that the MotionPlus will be sold by itself, right?
Yes I do know. If a consumer wants a game that requires an accessory, that consumer will first check out if they can buy the game with that accessory for a cheaper price. What would you prefer Red Steel 2 w/ Wii MotionPlus for $60 or Red Steel 2 for $50 and Wii MotionPlus for $20 -$25 (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74505)?

Bundle, of course. All I was saying is that a bundle isn't required, just preferred.
you know, I might actually buy red steel ii because of this. as long as the reviews are 80% or higher I'll strongly consider it. bravoSorry, but the gaming 'media' has a agenda to uphold to. It's better to take what they say with a grain of salt.
Super Mario Galaxy has a 97.28% average on GameRankings. If you feel the gaming media has an agenda THAT is certainly not the game to point to.

For once I agree with Ian, and that's coming from a guy who thinks Galaxy is the best game of the last decade.
Still the major outlets freely gave GTAIV and MGSIV 10s. So I think the point is still valid.

GTA IV earned every perfect score, it was easily the best game of 2008.

Not even going to touch that one.
