Title: Electronic Cigarette
Post by: Stogi on April 27, 2009, 10:29:00 PM
Have any of you heard about this or seen it in the wild?
I've had a "cigarette of the future" as I like to call it for about a month now and it's legit. I don't even smoke cigarettes but it's just too damn cool, plus I'm helping my brother sell some that "fell of a truck" (actually his buddy works at the company that sells them and hooked him up with a steep discount, so he bought a bunch of them).
I swear, this thing is the greatest. I love being able to puff on it anywhere I want to. Because it's water vapor and not smoke, I've smoked it:
In a hospital In a bar In a library At work In restaurants And finally At a strip club (holy **** was that funny)
But it has other uses than to just get your nicotine buzz with an oral fixation. Every time I whip it out, it's like a light to a moth; people just can't help but stare, wonder, then eventually ask. Because of that quality, for instance whenever I'm at the bar, I use it to get a drink quicker. How? Well because the bartender thinks I'm smoking, he comes rushing to me wanting me to stop, but as soon as I alleviate his concerns, I ask "So....can I get a drink?" Hell, if I give them enough **** (and I usually don't, unless they were being a dick), I'll usually get a free drink out of it.
Furthermore, that one night I told a chick I was a lion or some **** started out with me blowing their minds about this product.
Now don't get me wrong...I don't go to a place and immediately start puffin away and hope for attention. For one, it's strong, and I can't handle alot of nicotine. And two, I like to do it much more nonchalantly, as if I've done it a million times before. For example, I'll be talking to some girl and while she is explaining something, I'll whip it out and blow smoke everywhere and watch her jaw drop. I always follow with..."Ahem...you were saying?" But they never finish and instead ask me "What the **** is that?!"
I've gotten into clubs that cost 40 bucks to get in for free because of it. My brother has the craziest hook ups because he sold, not even gave, but sold some people a cigarette. I'm telling you it's been awesome. And if you smoke cigarettes, do the research, and make the switch.
This cigarette has become my "red sports car." It's my ace in the hole. And when I go on my trip next month, I'll finally get to see it's true potential.

So basically you can smoke, but without causing any ill effects to innocent bystanders?

I'm wondering what percentage of nicotine is exhaled which could also impact innocent bystanders by provoking an addiction, or poisoning.

While you may not be putting others in danger, you are are still hurting you body with the nicotine and early studies show they are still bad for you (although they don't agree if they are just as bad as regular cigarettes or slightly less bad). There is a proposal to remove them from the market altogether while the FDA studies them.
In short, for your own health you should give up all forms of nicotine. These electronic cigarettes are bad for your health the same way real cigarettes are.

Anyway, yes nicotine is bad for you, but the product induces the same effect as a cigarette without smoke. It's basically a nicotine nebulizer which makes it carcinogen free. Trust me...I don't smoke this when it's not necessary. Like I said, it's the ace up my sleeve. The times that I've smoked in random places (such as the hospital) was to raise awareness of the product solely (I hate seeing nurses smoke). Other than that, I really don't puff on it often.

Is this possible? An electronic cigarette? Still I don't wanna try that because it's bad for my health and it will shorten my life.

Electronic Smokeless Cigarette is a device that simulates the functions of a cigarette, excluding the harmful chemicals such as tar, carbon monoxide, arsenic found in traditional cigarettes. The device uses a small replaceable cartridge filled with propylene glycol and a small dose of nicotine, powered by a rechargeable battery. When the user inhales on the device, the air flow is detected by a sensor. -------------------------------- kelvin office jobs (http://www.londonofficejobsuk.com)
Chantix is one of those FDA approved drugs which can be used to get over smoking habit. It works on body by giving you the same feel good effect like smoking and hence reduces the craving for nicotine. This medicine should only be used in accordance with the instructions of a physician as there are various side effects which may vary from person to person and it includes change of taste, sleeplessness and many more. I have smoked for more than 10 yrs, but now I am spending a smoke free life from last 2 months. Thanks to chantix. Along with having this medicine, you should also have will power and feeling that you want to get over this habit.

I saw these at the local mall yesterday. I figured it was water vapor and nicotine, but I see it's been confirmed.
I AM NOT A ROBOT!

Well, I'll be. That is pretty impressive. And that probably gets by the clean air acts that have been enacted in some states and counties that ban smoking in any building. I live in one of those counties (and I think it is state as well now).

But where's the fun of being a self-righteous little **** stinking up the whole room and just waiting for somebody to complain, so you can recite The Constitution?
Here you just silently fuel a not-so-secret habit, by yourself, and no one cares.
(BTW, both my parents were long time smokers, and I hated it.)

I love how the banner ads on this thread are for Nicorett and other stuff meant to help you kick the smoking habit.

I bought one today at the Mall of America (as well as some hats!) and I love it. The guy who sold it to me was hilarious. He let me sample it quite a bit. It's really cool, and the flavors are awesome.
