Maybe... Coming in April is the UN National Monopoly Championships. Eariler this month, they had the online applications opened. After answering some multiple choice questions, I was presented with some essay questions that tested my knowledge of and passion for the game.
75 people were selected to participate in an on-line tournament where the top 23 (+ last year's winner) will be invited to play at the National tournament for a chance to win $20,580.
I am one of those 75. Whoooo!
Except that my computer blew up today and now I can't play in the online tournament. (Going to buy a new one tonight ;) ).
WIsh me luck...

Congrats, is there any site you know of that we can go to to watch live ffeds or get reports of how well players are doing. I'll watch if I can and cheer you on. Keep us updated with how it goes. Hopefully you win so you can pay for a nice replacement computer.

i suck at monopoly, one time a made an agreement not to be eliminated from the game by agreeing to owe all of my money to another player, every time you go around the board you get money, so i became a source of income for the other person. I sucked the first 12 or so times i played Risk. I have won most of the last 10 games and now feel awesome. One time I explained to my brothers wife my strategy from the beginning and she vowed never to play again, planning 30 turns ahead is not what she expected. I basically pulled an Ozymandias moment.

No, my computer just blew up yesterday. And it's already replaced. Dude, I got a Dell.
Anywhoo, I actually have been checking the forums just as much as ever... I just haven't really had much to say. Maybe when my new DSi arrives. :)

Did you just get lucky in being selected or are you actually pro at monopoly? If so, can you give us an overview of good monopoly strat?
