Title: Noby Noby Boy!
Post by: Nick DiMola on February 19, 2009, 10:58:18 AM
So ... this comes out today!

Totally buying it when I get home, will have some impressions up later, and will probably write an informal review as well.

Anybody else excited?

I'm super excited and it's only 5 dollars.

If it's cheap here I'll definitely consider it. It looks pretty nuts and I like the online system the game's got.

For $5 you absolutely cannot go wrong with this game. It's so wacky, and bizarre!

I love how the game doesn't explain itself at all, and purposely makes you explore the controls and the world to figure out how to play it.

I can't wait to see what happens as GIRL gets bigger.

My cheif complaint in this game is the camera controls absolutely suck and I wish the ground was bigger. I already got about 4 - 5 of the trophies. But really this game is awesome and the best 5 dollars I spent on PSN.

This game is trippy, and that's saying a lot coming from someone like me that likes to play odd games once in a while. I have yet to figure out what's the purpose, or not-purpose of this game.

The coolest thing I've managed to do so far is to stretch my boy around the entire map like a ribbon on a present. I managed about two laps.

Agreed on both, but I'm hoping that at least the second problem is rectified in some of the unlocked levels.

Haha, nice! My favorite thing to do so far is to wind myself through the clouds, there's something oddly satisfying about it.

Do any of you know how to remove text that you've placed on your boy? I can rotate it but not delete it.

Also there's a nice little easter egg:

Whilst holding Right on the Left Stick, press select

Got all the trophies yesterday and messed around with the moon. I love this game! Though it leaves me wondering if we may see something more done with this concept.

Seemingly, with its Katamari-esque gameplay, something similar could be done to make it a full-fledged game.

This game is amazing.  It's so relaxing to play!  I managed to hang on to a windmill, and get it to wind me up.  And then I attached my butt to another windmill, and they wound up both ends.  One windmill uprooted itself and began to roll away, eventually falling off the edge. Snap!  I think it's great that you have to eat your own butt in order to reassemble yourself.

The katamari references are nice.

"In the hopes that more people can enjoy the game, we are currently working on an update," Takahashi wrote on Sony's PlayStation blog.

"A featured addition to the update is going to be offline multiplayer. Some may say, “Offline!?” But it’ll still be fun. Please check it out."
