Title: SimAnimals needs love
Post by: GoldenPhoenix on January 22, 2009, 07:25:04 AM
No topics for SimAnimals makes me sad. I was actually intrigued when they previewed it (I think it was E3). Well I guess it is out now and hopefully it is fun.

I have Sim Pets. Is it similar?
It was given to me along with Trauma Center from my boss.

I haven't played Sim Pets but I'm gonna guess that you take care of your pet. In Sim Animals you try and make wild animals happy and the setting is in a forest.
I'm not really sure..,

EA pushing this out the door with no publicity whatsoever is a bad sign.

Yeah that is what I was thinking too. I'm waiting for some reviews because I did have hope for the game.

It looks ugly and cheap. Ubisoft level ugly and cheap. That being said, the game may be fun to play. One of the designers on the game is Jeff Green, formerly of 1up. http://jeff-greenspeak.blogspot.com/2008/10/blog-about-gaming.html
KAIRON PLEASE CONTACT JEFF GREEN FOR AN INTERVIEW

Stop being a party pooper Maxi or I'll be forced to send nasty letters about YOU to my AC animals.

Alright I really don't have a right to complain about this. The sim series wasn't my thing.I only liked Simcity. You like this game. Fine.I'll keep my comments to myself.
About the AC thing. I don't tell my AC animals about how you surround me with holes.

Ahaha Maxi, you're too nice. This game looks like crap and you have every right to complain. The only good thing about that trailer was that Lacey Bannister wasn't too bad on the eyes.

And you're entitled to yours, you don't need to keep them to yourself.
And you have a right to your opinion even though you haven't even played the game. All I know I like the Sims along with MySims so I'm willing to see how the gameplay holds up. It has had two reviews so far that gave it a 7, and an 8 but then again they are from sites I havent even heard of.

Gamesradar has a review but for some reason I can't post it. They gave it a 8.
Wow. Looks like the game may actually have turned out pretty good, just had a quiet launch.

I saw a commercial for it on Cartoon Network. It showed a kid who brings a bunch of wild animals to his house and begs his mom to keep them. Then shows some gameplay footage.

It doesn't look too bad.
The end bit of the trailer focused on irritating the animals and made me imagine what a Steve Irwin game would be like (you have to admit, the man spent a lot of time poking and prodding dangerous animals).

Speaking of Steve Irwin, recently a game called something like Australian Safari appeared on shelves here. The cover featured the image of Irwin with the words "home of the crocodile hunter" below it.
