Title: Discovered a new random issue with NWR ads
Post by: Flames_of_chaos on January 20, 2009, 02:05:26 PM
Randomly from time to time today I started getting this pop up:(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/CONFUZZLED_MUNKIE/NWR/Picture1-1.png)
Is there an issue with the ads or is it that my browser is just freaking out?

That's a bogus certificate. google-adservice.com is a domain registered in Poland, not a real Google domain. Also, as far as I know, Google doesn't allow Java ads. But I do see a few complaints of similar behavior online, so we'll try to talk to Google. If you could find out which ads are displayed when this happens, that would be a big help.

A lot of people are experiencing the same problem (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdSense/thread?tid=40ce71d66721b826&hl=en)
Apparently the site google-adservice is a malware attack website. And as of 1/29 google is well aware if it and escalated the issue because of many complaints. Also while the IP addresses of the site are from Poland the creators of the bogus website is from the Netherlands.
