Title: Best Cube FPS...?
Post by: NinGurl69 *huggles on April 10, 2003, 02:19:55 PM
....what's the best Cube FPS in terms of its single player experience?  My dilemma is EBgames.com is selling TimeSplitters 2 for $30, yet I'm still very interested 007:nightfire cuz of its slightly more realistic atmosphere but it's still sold in most places for $50.

I need some pros & cons here, and I care not for multiplayer.

Timesplitters 2 *easily*. Not only is it more like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark than Nightfire could ever dream of, it features much better levels and gameplay. It's just plain FUN. On top of that, you have the incredible multiplayer (easily the best in an FPS yet, if you ask me, besides UT). It has so many gameplay modes, stages, characters, and weapons it boggles the mind. Gonig even further you have the map maker included, which is a great bonus (I haven't experimented with it too much, but my friend makes maps all the time).

Seriously, if you enjoyed Goldeneye or Perfect Dark a all, get Timesplitters 2. Not saying that Nightfire is bad, just that it's nowhere near as good as Timesplitters 2.

yes timesplitters 2 is one of the best shooters i have played in years
finally we get a good shooter with tons of options and tons of multiplayer stuff

lets put it this way- timesplitters takes my vote for better
nightfire has the better and more interesting single player mode- and the story is pretty good
timesplitters doesnt have the best single player, it does have a multiplayer mode for one person where you play in different challenges
it reminded me of the perfect dark challenges only better
nightfire has a pretty decent multiplayer, but lacks the options, characters, and other stuff that timesplitters has

so if you are looking for a good single player game with multi as an afterthought, go with nightfire
if you want a great fps, one of the best in years, go with timesplitters

also- timesplitters is 20$ less

i think whichever you pick will be good to you- both are good games, but i feel timesplitters is way better

Yea I definitly have to go with Timesplitters 2. I played it on my friends PS2 and I was hooked from the first day. It has a multiplayer that is so awesome... I just wish I had it on my GC..
