Geez. So I have to ask... how many more iterations will it take before the series goes the way of Tony Hawk?

No. There are 8 games in the GH series and 10 in the TH series. Give it a couple months and they'll catch up.

Wow i didn't realize there were so many Hawk games. I think I didn't count the portable titles.

Oh, I see. So the question is, "when will people as a whole get sick of it?" That is an interesting question. Guess it depends on how fast they keep pumping them out.

I think they are shooting themselves in the foot releasing so many Guitar Hero games. Seriously, do we need a new one? We have had two already in a year. I never bought the first two either because I don't think the setlists in both games were any good. To each their own I guess.

Nintendo Power had a short article about this, and listed some of the confirmed songs:
Wolfmother - Dimension Coldplay - Violet Hill Lenny Kravitz - Where are we Runnin'
Evanescence - Sweet Sacrifice The Strokes - Reptilia The Bravery - Unconditional
Fall Out Boy - This Ain't a Scene, it's an Arms Race Wheezer - Everybody Get Dangerous The Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby
The 12 Stones - Adrenaline Tenacious D - The Metal Atreyu - Falling Down
I don't see why they can't make these games without including a handful of songs from previous Guitar Hero games. It didn't bother me at first, but you'd think "Modern Hits" would limit itself to songs that came out after Guitar Hero 3. Aside from the somewhat intriguing idea of playing an Evanescence song in a GH game, I'm not too really impressed.

Yuck, aren't some of those songs already on console Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band games talk about down and dirty money making schemes.
