Does this mean there's people who will "get" the controls and people who "don't," just like SSX Blur?
I'll say more in my review, but for now...
The controls WORK. But, you can't just move like blah and expect them to say "cool." However, if you actually mirror the cheerleaders on screen, you'll quickly learn what to do for each type of gesture.

Oh God! Is he your older brother?! Cuz mine would laugh at the idea of helping me video tape myself playing a cheer leading game, then probably kick me in the chest.

I just looked this game up on metacritic and the reviews are all over the place. 1Up gave this game an F in their official review (translates to 0 on metacritic), but Nintendojo (http://www.nintendojo.com/reviews/Wii/view_item.php?1226359146) gave the game a score that seems to coincide with mine! Their review is also quite lengthy and exhaustive, and a good read for those more interested in the minutiae of the game.
I also went to youtube to watch some user videos in fear of what I'd have to do for a video review... *shakes head* what have I gotten myself into?

But that's absolutely NO REASON for them to rate the game any lower. Unless... you know... it does actually... happen...
Actually, 1Up's reviewer was a girl. But it definitely might have something to do with an underlying aggressiveness to the Wii and games like We Cheer from parts of the gaming community. *sigh*
