Title: DOOM!
Post by: UncleBob on September 06, 2008, 02:30:18 PM
I have some DOOM CDs...
DOOM Collector's Edition - Ultimate DOOM - DOOM II - Final DOOM
Demon Gate - Demon Gate Mega Collection - Master Levels - Supercharged Xpansion Pack
D!Zone Collector's Edition - D!Zone 2 - D!Match

9,566 extra levels between the six unofficial collection CDs... shame none of them (that I played) were really that good... ;)

I wish I knew where my old Heretic/HeXen CDs were...

Steam is running the ID Super Pack  (http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=sub&SubId=440&cc=US)for $35... I swear if this was on physical format, I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Commander Keen

Wolfenstein 3D
Spear of Destiny
Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Ultimate DOOM
DOOM II
Master Levels for DOOM II
Final DOOM
DOOM 3
DOOM 3 Resurrection of Evil

QUAKE
QUAKE Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon
QUAKE Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity
QUAKE II
QUAKE II Mission Pack: The Reckoning
QUAKE II Mission Pack: Ground Zero
QUAKE III Arena
QUAKE III: Team Arena

Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders
HeXen
HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel
HeXen II

No Heretic 2 though. :(

I just came here to post the super pack and then I saw you might be as big a DOOM fan as I am. Unclebob, you rule.

(Technically I guess this is the third time I bought Quake III but I guess it makes up for me pirating everything else)

It's time to blow the dust off my Steam installation, I guess.  I'm picking up the X-COM pack, too, while I'm at it.

I fell for this soft install once, purchasing Doom 2 off the Quake shareware CD.  Try installing and extracting that sucker now...

I picked up the id Super Pack this weekend too.  Man, I still love Wolfenstein 3-D.  The sound effects are so great.  MEIN LEIBEN

Hmmm, that X-Com Pack also intrigues me.

Hm... I'd love to get it but I think I'd actually commit a crime by doing so (Wolf3d is illegal here).

EDIT: No Keen 6??? Well, good thing I finished that one already...

EDIT2: Hm, limited time price, until when will it stay at that price?

Is it illegal for you to own it, or is it illegal for someone to be selling it?

On another note, how does Steam work - can someone who purchased DOOM from Steam play against my real copy of DOOM?

Remember that part in DOOM where you're in this big open area and the CyberDemon shows up, twice as big and scary as anything else? Holy crap, he was hard.

I think possession is not illegal but buying is.

For that price, you're buying all the other games and getting Wolf3D free! ;)

Eh, it lists german as an available language, I suppose they have some handling for the country (censored version of the game?).

Goddamn it.  Why was I out of town this weekend?  It's back up to $70.

Already?  Well now that they've dropped it once, consumers should just refuse to buy it until it's that price again.  GM found that out the hard way :)

Luckily I didn't prepare for buying that thing or I'd have 35 useless dollars on my PayPal account now.

I'd have missed it, too, if I hadn't logged in to upload some Bangai-O levels.
