Title: Is this game growing on you?
Post by: Mario on July 12, 2008, 10:15:24 PM
It's growing on me. I wasn't huge for it when I first got it, but still liked it. Now i'm liking it more each time I play. It's just damn fun!

SB is really timeless. It's just as fun when you master it as will it be when you're replaying it before SSBZ 17 in 50 years time since fighting your friends never really gets old.

Enjoying balancing my time between Smash and Kart.  They both have their appeal, amplified by who you're participating with.

I find I am playing it less and less unless someone wants to play online with me.
I guess its my own fault. I mean I am on the internet more find news, watching anime, listening to vg music. I hardly have any time to play games.

I've pretty much stopped playing it entirely. I had the opportunity to play more with a group of friends recently, but opted against it and played Melee instead.

The game is pretty good, but it is so much slower and floatier than Melee it just drives me nuts. If they had some mode where I could set the speed and gravity equivalent to Melee's I'd easily stop playing Melee in favor of this game because everything else about it is better.

A friend of mine loved it at first, then after a while he hated it and almost sold it, but now it's growing on him again, which combined with the fact that I get no lag playing online lately has made me come back and play the game more than I was.

I haven't been playing any games lately though, if a game is engaging enough, I'll make time for it (the last one being No More Heroes and the next one likely being Order of Ecclesia). I'm not too interested in Brawl and when I play it, I get bored easily. Not that it's a bad game, but I find it too similar to Melee which I stopped playing because I got bored of that.

I might harp about SSE, but honestly, my biggest complaint about the game is that it's way to similar to Melee while the same isn't true of Melee compared to the original.

Ditto.

Haven't purchased any other games between Smash and Kart... and have no real desire to, as both keep me occupied still.

I bought Obscure: The Aftermath, based on Mario's recommendation.  I only play it co-op, about 10 hours in.  Its mediocrity is $30 of fun in a MST3000 kind of way, and not in the survival horror way.

I've still been trying to find the time to beat No More Heroes, so playing smash is far more of a luxury. I'll play my room mate every now and then (he fucking loves that game), but outside of that, I mostly play Mario Kart when I have people over.
