Title: Duplicate posting problem too

I am suffering from the duplicate posting problem as well. No one had responded in the other topic, so I'll have to start a new one. I know Rick that you have already stated that it is not a problem with the forums. Are you sure? I am not the only person to suffer the same problem. I would love to continue posting at these boards, but I won't force people to see duplicate posts for my sake. So does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Theaveng, have you fixed your problem with duplicate posts? If so, how?


Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. And if you need my system information, can you tell me specifically what type of info you need please.

Here we go... I just downloaded the Avant Browser that mouse gave me the link to, it's quite nice I must say.

Ah, sorry man- I really can't think of what your problem is. If it's not the browser, what else can it be? I'm not that knowledgable with internet set ups, but I thought that would work.

I talked to a friend- the only thing he could think of was the forum software having a problem with your computer (in which case there's little you can do). Try maybe signing up at a different forum or accessing this forum from a different computer if you can.

Who's your ISP?  Theaveng seemed to think that lag in his connection was possibly the problem at one point.

Actually, it looks like we've tracked the problem back to internet accelleration utilities that run your requests through a proxy server.  As I mentioned in the other thread, you need to turn off these third-party programs and add-ons, because they can cause problems like this.  Any time you're visiting sites that are dynamic in nature, you're going to run the risk of this happening.

So why does it only happen here?  Probably because we have a great deal more traffic than some of the other forums you might frequent, which will exacerbate the problem.  Anyway, both you and Troy seemed to be using IP addresses that are traced back to "MarketScore.com", which is a division of Symantec.  It sounds like their internet accellerator is what's causing the problem.  If you're using that, you should probably shut it off.

Thanks Rick for the help, it's very much appreciated and thanks Mouse & Bloodworth for the help and support as well. Hopefully this is the end of this problem. It's kinda funny, because my posts were fine (no multiple posts) until about two weeks ago, when I replied in one of, go figure, theaveng's topics. It's like I caught a multiple post disease from him or something (I know that wasn't true, I just found it strange)... But it was obviously something more technical and thankfully Rick went to the time and the effort to find out (Thanks again for everything).

Well, I wish I could say that Troy was as responsive, but he's been banned for posting flamebait.  Plus, he refuses to beleive that it could possibly he anything like MarketScore that could be causing the problem.  And since he's always right, we must be wrong.  I'm glad it's working for you, anyway.
