Title: floppy sp lid?
Post by: StRaNgE on April 04, 2003, 08:26:00 AM
my sp was perfect when I got it and less then a week later the lid now opens and has playin it when in the open position. I am curious if this is something happening to others or should I exchange this before it worsens. I would hate for it to become so floppy it is hard to play, right now it has about a 1/2 inch play each way so it does move around a bit if you move the sp around while you play.
also curious if the cause could be opening past the natraul spot or not opening it far enough and playing with it in more of a 90 degree angle?
Is this something I should exchange or is this normal for 1-2 weeks time owning one?
Thanx for all input.

mine is fine, but that was bound to ahppen, you should be able to send it in if it really bothers you and just pay for shipping.

You wouldn't pay for shipping if you are under warranty.. Which we all are since, it's only been out a few weeks. I'd say keep it, if it gets worse, then call up the Nintendo help line.

I noticed that mine was much looser than my friend's SP. I have called NOA's tech support. They want me to take it to a local repair center. I'll get around to it eventually. I originally had a battery problem as well, but it seems as the battery's life has improved since my first charge. Only thing that bothers me is that damn hinge for the lid.
So yeah... you're not the only one.

mine has started doing that too. I actualy dont know if it was always that way and I just didnt notice it until now, due to me obessive level of care, or if it is a new problem. Either way, it is not affecting gameplay at all, but it annoys the hell out of me, i really can't stand it.
I hate to have to go through the huge hassle of having to send it in to have it repaired....
