All my life I've lived with a cemetery either next to my house, or in plain full view from my house. If they exist, let them appear before me and I will handle the situation like the uber curious human that I am.

Fair and intelligent response.
I don't agree with that logic though. Ghosts, if were real, would not hang out near their decaying bodies as reminders of their past lives. I think they would likely go beyond their existence to seek out others of their kind.
I don't believe in "ghosts" myself but I do have a belief in the afterlife and there are certain phenomena that are unexplainable using conventional methodology. A long time ago, I used to be a practitioner of the art of Necromancy. I have long since given up on this dangerous and decidedly evil practice, but I am always curious what others think of the idea at least.

As a crazy Nintendo fanboy I must remind you that there are Boos in Mario and Ghost-type Pokemon so of course ghosts are real. Or are you're going to sit there and try to keep a straight face while telling me that that's just pretend?

Also, the original ghost pokemon are supposed to come from smog or something. Like, how muk comes from toxic waste.

I forgot about that, I was thinking Mario 64 but I haven't played it in a long time either.
But you see the Boo's are not the only "undead" who in habit those so I could still be right.

The question isn't do you believe Ghosts exist...but If you do Believe in Ghosts, what do you believe they are...because there are many theories in that regards...and many believe it is religious based.
As a Christian I can tell you some of the theories that many Christians believe.
A)Ghosts are the souls of the dead waiting for Christ's second coming so they can go to heaven or hell which ever they are called. Many Christians believe that when the trumpet sounds the Dead will be raptured first like scripture says and until that time their soul's or spirits can wonder the Earth. Although, many also believe that our soul's immediately go up to heaven so Spirits must be human's that aren't Christian or something else.
B)Others believe that Ghosts are demons or fallen Angels, (they are not necessarily the same thing) and that these Demons will do anything to keep the truth about Christ from people of Earth. In this they form themselves in the image of Ghosts and Spirits, or even Aliens to trick people into believing that Christianity must not be real because Ghosts and such exist. I personally, believe this is possibly true with Aliens but very narrow minded in Ghosts.
I believe in option A. The Bible even has a story of a King going to a witch doctor to call up a deceased prophet of God, whom was shocked that the King would go to such obviously immoral means to get advice from the prophet.
This to me speaks that the spirit world is alive and can be manipulated by the physical world and vice versa. We do not know where our spirit goes when we die, but if a soul or spirit exists, I believe it must follow the rules of matter and yes science which states matter can neither be created nor destroyed...once a Soul or Spirit has been breathed life, I do not believe it dies, and therefore when the physical body is gone, that soul may find itself acting as what we would call a ghost.

Which, I did not mean to turn it religious...but I like discussing theories of Ghosts...so I took this thread seriously, which I guess is always the first mistake of a funhouse thread.

This is sounding better and better. Evan could be the mod and allow political/religious/anything discussion with the one rule being no topic could exceed 17 replies, it would immediately be locked at that point. New topics to continue the discussion would also be immediately deleted. You'd get very heated, very short discussions, and start a few forum civil wars.

I myself am also a Christian and I usually go with the theory they are demons. Mostly because of my past experience with necromancy. There is a reason why the Bible warns us against talking to the dead and such.
I have been thinking about this a lot, not just cuz like a lot of people I know are dead. Right now it is I keep having dreams about zombies and the end of the world. I know that there isn't anything that says there will be "zombies" at the end of the world, but something Perm posted a while back got me thinking about what I do know about the subject. It makes me wonder if there is something to my dreams or not.
I have always had a "gift" of knowing when something was going to happen, not prophecy or psychic or anything like that, I just get a strong feeling or have a dream and it happens. I been dreaming about the end of the world too much to ignore it, especially since I keep praying for direction cuz my life isn't going anywhere and it's starting to make me think a lot.
On the topic of ghosts, I do think they are very real, but I am not exactly sure how they fit into what is happening and what is going to happen.
