Title: Anyone have C&C Generals??
Post by: NickNiteQ93 on April 02, 2003, 01:19:43 PM
I was checkin the game out, and it's weird that a C&C game actualyl has a unit limit. But that's good because when you've got 55 tanks it's hard for anyone to not be beat. I was just wondering about it because the system reqs are a little steep, well for a broke ass like me, so I was wondering if it was worth a buy/upgrade.

i liked the game but i also like most realtime stategy games (warcraft, starcraft, comand and conquer) once you get used to the game it actually plays alot better than the other c&c games and the online mode is pretty good too and if you dont want to buy it you could try to download it...which is very very illegal........

lol sounds like you're speaking from experience there dude. do you absolutely need to have those high requirments? if so I might just have to go get a better processor.

i guess i was a little vague....... i dont think the system requirements are higher than those for the others 800 megahertz processor, 120 megs of ram, but it takes almost 2 gigs on my computer! doesnt need a great video card- maybe 32-64 megs it runs pretty good on my computer i like the series and it plays mostly like the others i would say of course i downloaded it so i really couldnt tell you what the box says those would be my estimates

lol I'd watch what you say yo. My comp ain't too hot, that's why I was asking. PIII 600 256 with a Geforce 2 MMX 400 64 MB doesn't do a whole lot for next gen games. I'm content with the video card for now, I just need a new processor first and foremost.

yeah i guess the new processor would help i cant really complain though- i have a really updated computer- i put it together i took an old computer shell i used to have and bought new circuit boards, p4 processor, 512 ram, 80 gig hard drive, 128 meg video card it is cheaper than buying a whole new computer but it takes a while to get it all together but the important thing is that it works for me sorry i didnt tell you that stuff earlier- i guess i can be a little dumb sometimes.....

amen dude I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I'm checkin out NewEgg.com and Motherboards.com The latter is cheaper, and I'm planning on gettin hooked up with either the Radeon 9700 Pro or 9800 Pro. Not sure which I want, but to hell with Nvidia. I'm thinking of getting P4 2.4 GHz with 2x 256 RAM, and a brand new motherboard. I think that's all I'm going to need besides a new power supply. Since you build them, how would you go about doing it, plus is there anything else I'm gonna need? I've got everything I need, so why spend over $2000 at Dell when I can get the same exact thing for $800?

well the processor and video card you have in mind are very good choices the ram seems good- i have 1024 megs of ram so everything runs good ( i just installed it) the more ram the better- if you could i would just go for 1024 megs of ram- if you have the funds how bout your hd though- i have 80 gigs now- when you have that much you never run out of room but that is what i would suggest- if you get all of that you should be set for a while
