For those too lazy to click a link, Treasure is currently in the works with two 3D Wii games...
So what does that mean? Sin & Punishment 2, please!

One of those games has a fair chance of being Sin and Punishment related. It may have taken 300 years, but the game finally got some exposure through VC and Brawl. The style of gameplay is perfect for the Wii though I hope they expand on the formula (should the game even be in development, that is).

Not to mention in an interview from a while ago, one of the key members of that game said they would like to do a sequel in the future. I'm not sure where the interview was from but I know it's been within the last year, so it's fairly recent.
That's a good sign at least.

Why do people always think sequels?

Because it's harder to say "I predict it will be a new and unpredictable game."

Treasure has only recently done sequels so in their case predicting something unique is probably the safer bet. Actually considering Advance Guardian Heroes or Gunstar Super Heroes were both somewhat of letdowns compared to the originals I question why anyone would ever be excited about the idea of a Sin & Punishment 2. We finally got the original game released in North America and that's great. So maybe it should stay like that. Treasure does not seem to be very good at making sequels but is undoubtably proven at delivering the goods when making original games. So I'm hoping for original titles.
Either way though Treasure support is typically worth getting excited for.

Didn't Treasure found their company one the principle of never doing sequels. Sure they broke this with Gunstar Super Heroes, but otherwise, don't make bets on sequels, this is Treasure.

Not sequels, sequel...And because Sin & Punishment 2 makes SENSE...And:
“When we were originally working on Sin and Punishment [for Virtual Console], there was some discussion utilizing Wii-like controls, and I think now that we’re working more with the Wii, it is something we’d very much like to try.”

Crimm they never had a policy against making sequels they just go with what they want to create so they don't always do sequels but they do make sequels.

It wont be one. They like to do new things. It could be a similar game but I really don't think you should be waiting on a sequel.

Considering how WTF S&P was I doubt anyone could tell whether a follow-up would be a prequel, sequel or a new IP with similar gameplay. Though I think we should keep in mind that Treasure doesn't keep a single gameplay style throughout a game so experimenting with the pointer for S&P-like gameplay could just be a small part of a different game.

Well here is something to consider, is if Nintendo is funding the project or not...or who is publishing it. If Nintendo is behind it then it supports the concept of S&P 2. Which really would be awesome, specially if they tuck the original hidden away with new controls.
As for the other, I predict a new IP...and something more geared to the nongamer, but that is just me.

If Nintendo is behind it and it really is S&P 2. Don't conclude things out of unsubstantiated claims!
