Title: I hate my housemate
Post by: RABicle on March 17, 2008, 09:05:57 AM
So this afternoon my housemate got a call on the home phone, I thought it was a little odd. When he gets off he asks if I can back out my car so he can take Sam's car to UWA to get his mobile phone, which he stupidly left there on Saturday night. "Yeah sure," I said. After 5 minutes or so, he couldn't find Sam's keys so he asked to borrow my car. "Yeah allright." I said. "It doesn't have any fuel in it," I said. "Here's $10," I said. "Put some fuel in it," I said. "It has enough to UWA," I said. "But you wont make it back," I said.
So anyway at 8:20 he finnally arrives home. I jocularly ask if my car is still in one piece. "Yeah it's still in one piece but uh, it's about 20 metres north of the Canning Bridge" "What on the fucking freeway?" "Nah it's in the emergency stopping lane" *facepalm**hold head in hands*
I swear to God, he is fucking retarded.

This is why I had a rule, especially in college, to never, ever, under any circumstances, allow a friend or a roommate to drive my car. I would give them a ride any time of the day, but I would always be the one driving.

I don't have a car so I don't any unfortunate events to tell. However, something similar happened to SB.
Back in summer 2006 our group of friends went to Canada. They need a second to transport the second group of passengers. Since SB couldn't go due to his family company not having any employees for a couple of days he agreed to lent them his car.
On Monday morning when he was about to get into his car he was pissed to see that his car was turned into a trash heap! There were TONS of McDonalds bags everywhere, empty bags of potato chips, soda cans, the works. He was so mad that he actually started making calls regarding the issue.
I learned that in the event that I need to lend a car to someone I will force them to both fill it up AND clean it up after using it.

people usually have to look it up. But I make a point of always spelling it gaol becuse it's more un american that way. I was so angry that my Australian edition (and for teh matter, the standard, british) Monopoly had "jail" written on it.

theres flat mates, room mates, and house mates
generally if you share an apartment in the uk then your flat mates, only if you share the same room then you become roomates.
if you share a house then you would be housemates
in the US then generally your referred to as Room Mates, but only if you live in an apartment, if you share a house then their interchangeable and based more on preference rather than standard.
