Title: Bringing consoles to Japan.

I'm going to be going to school in Japan next year, and of course I want to bring a few of my consoles with me, but one of my friends said that he thinks if I do that I'll have to pay a hefty tax to bring them into the country. Does anyone know anything about that?

I do not believe so as you are not taking over there to sell it (Which would be importing) and you are only going to use it for personal use anyway. I mean how would you feel if you had to pay taxes on a laptop that you use for bussines or fun for every country you visited.
