So, I want to test the PM box capacity. Anyone else up for it?
No good to me. I send everyone a different lie so that no one can collaberate my story. It's the only way.

Right...
Look, everyone's account I've hacked into from prior mafias has had the same messages from you all the time. You're bluffing.

Actually the sending the same PM to everyone means it is easier to carry a lie further, because EVERYONE CAN have the exact same message.
I am desperately wanting a new Mafia game now.
We need some super fun Mafia games.
I even have a fun new role, if Poles are continued to be used.

You know, if forum members are willing to wait a couple weeks, I could probably host the next mafia game. I would post a sign-up thread on the 25 of Feb. and start the game a week after that. Unless someone else wants to quickly take up the mantle before that date.

Sounds like a plan to me, Khush. I'd love another mafia about now, and would actually to participate in it.

I think the new forum is just the occasion for me to finally give this whole mafia thing a try. I hope I have fun and don't screw things up too much.

No Mafia games while we're at Uncle Bob's Faceball 2000 event!
After that its all gravy.

Khush I would also love another Mafia.
Though, I am curious what some of these new forum options can do for the game.
I hope to have a slightly more conventional game than thaguy's (although it was fun.)
But I do like unconventional roles. Or at least group roles.
Hopefully we can see the Witness again, and I still like my Bomber rules where he must blow up to win. But I am evil like that.

When is Unclebob's Faceball event?
Also, since this thread was talking about the new mafia game, I just thought I'd mention this idea out here. Just thought I'd guage the reaction before I post up the sign-ups.
I was thinking of doing something similar to the current Survivor theme. Yeah, I still watch that show. The current twist is Fans VS Favorites where a group of people who've played the game before make one tribe and a group of people who have watched the show regularly form the other tribe.
Anyways, my game would be a little bit different of a twist but it would be one of these scenarios. (Depends on sign-up turnout)
Preferred scenario. Two mafias. The first mafia is handpicked by me from the people who sign-up. Basically, I make a mafia I think would have a great shot at winning the game. The second mafia is randomly assigned the roles from the list of players like regular. Can the random group do better than the hand-picked group? Or is hand-picking a huge advantage? Let's not forget the many other townies who have something to say about this experiment. They want to win also. But will they be more motivated to go after the hand-picked group, the random group or just play it normal and hope they can weather the storm? There would also be a little bonus for whichever mafia group outlasts the other.
The second scenario is more simple. A hand-picked mafia group versus the townies. Again, can a handpicked group do better than the random and uniformed majority of players?
But, before I do this I just thought I'd test the waters since I'm unsure how people would feel about a handpicked mafia. So, any thoughts?

That's tricky. Not everyone that's hand-picked can be an all-star, since mafia is a game about hiding, if all the good players are in the mafia, then the mafia's members should be pretty well known. I'd still be up for it.

Well, I think that's what would make the game so interesting is that it's partly a psychological game of who would I pick. Would I pick only people who fly under the radar? But then, what if I suspected people would think that so chose only the best players? Would I really only chose the best players? That would be easy to figure out. So, in part, it's a game against the mafia, trying to expose them but there's also a game against the host and who would he have chosen. I think it could be interesting.

Just an idea that might help balance the picking of the mafia is if you hand selected some of the special townie roles, this could be before or after the random draw for the second mafia if the turnout is large enough, but just don't release the roles that were hand selected. This way there will be a mafia that should play well together as well as a few special townie roles what the players should do well with them.

Khush: You need a really big turn out for a game like that.
With 2 Mafia's you want at least 3-5 people on each Mafia. That means you want at least 20-25 players to sign up.
I would then just create all other players regular townies. It would be a strange game, but could be fun.

You're saying no roled townies? That's something I've considered. That, and no roles beyond mafia member, Godfather, and townies.

Exactly. If you are going to have 2 Mafias. You have to make every Townie member count as a general player. It is the only way to really hide the Mafia's well enough.
I like the idea of having 2 Mafia's with like a Recruiter and a Godfather as the only roles, and all other roles are townies. Every Night A Mafia kills and another Mafia Recruits a new member. The game ends when one Mafia kills the other Mafia completely.
Townies are there to foil plans with vote outs, and wait for becoming Mafia recruits.
I think if Khush's game took this direction it could be quite exciting.

Oops...I would also still include a Suicide Bomber to make targeting townies more dangerous...but in the rules above I would make the Suicide Bomber a Townie just trying to help save his city.
