Ditto. I don't want a PSP.

That was interesting, and for some reason I really want to try it. Who is the developer[Rolito/Interlink]? I've never heard of them before. Are they affiliated to Sony? Cause if not they must not be too bright, we all know software (especially of the original variety) doesn't sell on PSP.

I was able to try the Japanese version and it's, hmmm, interesting. It plays and looks kinda weird but maybe once it's in English, it might be worth trying again.

I don't know but that song gets old super fast and the game play seems to be shallow

Rhythm-based tactical warfare. Drum up the right beat to motivate your allies to conquer! I'm hoping the end game stuff will be a twisty mix of proper units and equips and using the right four beats at a given moment.
They're using the system's power to give out some slick visuals to all those crazy sounds. I'm eager to see how it turns out.
Apparently, Rolito is a French artist lending character and world designs. (http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/Games/Patapon) Seeing as how Japan Studio is in that trailer, I'm pretty sure this is purely Sony Computer Entertainment plopping down the cash.
This reminds me that I should see to snagging Loco Roco.

Well to me the graphics style screams Samurai Jack more that anything.

Loco Roco the PS3 game is ok but glitchy. This look interesting. Maybe they'll bring a version out for the PS3 through PSN.

So I ordered Patapon on Amazon and it came in the mail (19.99 so why not). And the game is actually pretty catchy and even though the controls are simply bound to the specific song beats the game is pretty deep like for an example: where you need to preform a specific song sequence to preform a miracle to make it rain in a desert and if you don't then all your patapons will burn and crisp up by the fire. I think Sony was smart at releasing it at 19.99 or else it will be canibalized by God of War (it probably did anyways). But I have no intentions of buying any God of War games since I think they suck.

Games like these are the ones that I truly miss. Let the Playstation have its Final Fantasy, but why couldn't I own Parappa the Rapper? Let the XBox 360 have its Mass Effect, but why must it hog Castle Crashers all to itself? Let the PSP have whatever they put on PSP... but god Patapon would make a great DS or WiiWare game...

I'd love to have a PSP, if only for Patapon and Star Wars: Battlefront. Sadly, though, those two games don't warrant the purchase of a PSP. Perhaps if I can ever find a used old model for cheap, I'll pick it up.
Speaking of which, is the PSP fairly comfortable to hold? Never touched one. I've seen them set up at kiosks, but only in the form of those older black models covered in greasy fingerprints spreading across the surface like jungle camouflage. Public PSPs just look too nasty to touch, like a fixture in an truck stop restroom.

Easy, Patapon is a internally Sony made game. And you do know Nana On-Sha(developers of Parappa) is making Major Minor's Majestic March for the Wii right?? Castle Crashers is an XBLA game, all Nintendo has to do is lure The Behemoth to make a WiiWare version, I believe The Behemoth had a good run with Alien Hominid on the gamecube.

Starwars battlefront on the PSP IMO sucks but moving on. The PSP is comfortable to hold but using the analog nub is horrible even on the PSP slim speaking of which I do prefer the Slim over the regular launch PSP, the regular PSP's Dpad is very stiff and you may have a hard time with fighting games especially Dpad combination, the Slim's dpad is almost as good as a Nintendo Dpad. Also any public kiosk controllers and portable systems are usually nasty since they were probably used by many people and some kids usually butcher those things.
