nov, 16th House of Dead 2 & 3 to Wii Lol i used the submit news feature, and they still didn't put it up. Anyhow, if any of you missed this news. Here it is. Not big news, but cool. The more light gun games the better. Even if this will end up just being a port, its a port of a game I didn't play HOTD3

Definitely good news. It would be nice if they tossed in the original HotD for good measure. Not sure why it wasn't on the Xbox version to begin with anyway...

The only issue I take with this is that these games pale in comparison to REUC.
Maybe if this is a proper lightgun shooter which has you calibrate and aim with no cursor, I can dig this. Otherwise, I don't see a point.

I know this is a matter of preference, but for me RE UC is different enough that it doesn't ruin the arcade shooter experience.
RE UC is slower. It forces you to aim better, think fast and survive. In fact, I might even go as far as to say that RE UC is NOT a real on rails shooter. Just a first person, RE game which happens to be on rails.
Arcade shooters are a lot like pop corn flicks; just leave your brain at the door and have fun shooting everything that pops up.

You're the reason the civilians who pop up shout "DON'T SHOOT!"

Graphics don't look too great, hopefully it's just early. I'm expecting the Wii HOtD3 to look at LEAST as good as the Xbox version. On a side note, I played House of the Dead 4 at Univeral Studios a few months ago, and it was freakin' awesome.

I don't expect Sega to improve the graphics AT ALL.

The sad thing is that even though it is more on rails, it has more variety then Killer7 could ever dream of!

RE UC is an on-rails shooter. That's reality, so quit trying to fool people.
Variety is still zero, people are just positively biased toward RE zombies, which explains why RE1 thru Outbreak 2, minus RE4, got so much attention from audiences who're used to playing cheap-thrill minimum effort games with artificial difficulty and flashy graphical rewards.

I have nothing against Killer7, but REUC is probably the best "pointer skill" game on the Wii to date.
Just don't dislike the game because someone who likes it ragged on K7.
As for HOTD, I'll rent it, Ghost Squad, and any other lightgun games which show up, but I've learned buying them isn't always a good idea.

Seems like this is just a straight up port of the Xbox HotD 2 & 3 collection.. ah if only Sega weren't such lazy sods and included Typing of the Dead. =3 BUT I WILL BUY THIS ANYWAY OH GOD LIGHT GUN GAMES GIVE THEM ALL TO ME. Maybe Sega will also port the PS2 Virtua Cop collection!

Looks pretty good, nice and fluid. Hopefully you can disable the aiming reticule like you can in Ghost Squad. I'm gonna be balls deep in that game when it comes out.

UC has other junk besides the whacky difficulty that bugs me. And on top of that, if Ghost Squad is any indication, HotD 2&3 will have unlimited continues. :b

i bought UC... and then returned it. only thing that happened as i played is it made me want to play RE0 again.
and i think i've already given enough of my money on HotD games. it would have been cheeper to just buy the damn arcade.

I'm not really interested in playing it but I can't help wanting this as part of my "arcade light gun" collection, especially since I've got a Wii gun shell coming in the mail.
Now if Confidential Mission could make the jump.

The game does have a calibration setting that lets you aim without the recticle like Ghost Squad. However, it's supposed to be an improved, more accurate setup than GS.
Graphics, I don't see what people are fussing about, looks about the same to me. I don't expect it to look exactly the same anyway, afterall in the case of HoTD3 it is being converted from nVidia shader model 1 to Wii's TEV units. From what I understand it actually runs 60fps like it's supposed to, though that could be attributed to not having the physics engine that GS used.

The only review I found was IGN. I don't understand how $30 is too much for two arcade games? It seems they have the impression that everyone has a Dreamcast, Xbox, or a still functioning arcade to play them instead. (I have none) I'm still holding off to purchase until I read impressions from some where else (hopefully someone on this forum). Plus I'm still deeply into Brawl.

If $30 is too much for HOTD, then $60 is too much for the PS3 version of The Orange Box. I do like the fact that magazines are complaining that $30 is too much for a video game, though. Thank you, Nintendo.

If people are planing to get it they should buy it even if they know their not going to get to it for a bit.
I don't know what developers are think when they release a game so close to Smash Bros. But if we don't continue to support 3rd parties even with Smash out it might push them away from Nintendo again.
I'm going to be picking it up if we still have a copy at the store.
Come on people Support 3rd Parties!!!!

I'm right there with you CapAmerica! Supoort third parties!
Actually, despite my very drastic cuts in my third-party budget, I've still got a very full third-party dance card for this month. It sorta pains me that I can't bring myself to buy this tasty tasty $30 treat, but in the month of March I'm already committed to multiple third party games, including Okami and FF:CC RoF.

Kairon you do know that Okami comes out in April right? HOD came in the mail today and its pretty cool, I tried it with the Zapper and Wii remote and both function well but I like using the Zapper for the light gun feel (I can't justify myself to buy the Nyko lightgun since 15 bucks is too much for it). The calibration is awesome if you were wondering.

Yeah, believe me, House of the Dead 2 & 3 are right at the top of my "Wish I could buy list." But I've got my budget mapped out till the end of June and I really can't afford this game if I'm going to do the other stuff that I want to do in that time.
But... maybe I can convince my younger brother to buy the game. I bought Ghost Squad, maybe he'll reciprocate by purchasing this one for the two of us.

There's a problem with that, Cap. This is NWR we are talking about. Most people here would prefer their teeth pulled by a 4 year old using a rusty hammer than play a third party game on the Wii, no matter how fantastic it is... :P

You can always go cheapassgamer mode and wait till the 3rd party games get cheaper and then snatch those games then. I got Ghost Squad when it was 19.99 on Amazon. It will help out your budget in the long run. And plus I think you usually go buyer happy on games so maybe its a good time to sift through that backlog that you potentially built up :).

They don't have to be zombies. Just chix in lame halloween costumes.
What's important is Paradise Mode replaced the enemy models, on top of themed environment textures and objects. Commendable effort for a "special edition".

Tru dat...
I'm more annoyed at the lack of House of the Dead 1 in the collection. I know Sega said that the game looks severely dated by today's standards, but its perhaps the rarest game in the series. I've played both HotD 1 and 2, but I missed the first one completely.
