Title: EA STRIKES BACK!!!
Post by: darknight06 on October 11, 2007, 12:47:35 PM
In tonight's news, Electronic Arts just sealed the deal which is sure to have a "Mass Effect" on the industry.  Purchasing the company that owns and operates Pandemic and Bioware for 775 million.  What does the future hold for these two studios?  Will they thrive under new rule?  Will they become the next Westwood studios?  Will we see Mass Effect 2008, 09, and 2010 on all consoles or will the series even exist in the same form after this release?  Stay tuned...

from Gonintendo

"EA just had a conference call to discuss the details of their newly acquired Bioware and Pandemic dev houses. During the call, EA reps stated that both Bioware and Pandemic have a number of titles that are slated for the Wii and DS. Those are two big time developers that could fill some genre gaps on the Wii."

Ya see, you use the Biological software to great a global Pandemic. Electronic Arts then rules Earth's survivors with an iron fist.

Wow.

Well, if this means more Nintendo support, at leas that's good news. We need some Western developer support, and Bioware is among the best. Plus they're based in Edmonton.

But if it means that their game quality will drop due to rushed and rehashed, games, then thumbs down.

Has there been any news on the Sonic Bioware RPG recently?

No, its been hush-hush since the initial announcement.

Looks like EA wants to branch out of their Licensing/Sports franchises and publish something original. Pandemic and Bioware will be left to their own devices...for now at least.

Its not like Pandemic/Bioware were hurting for the money, at least not on the surface. They've got their respective fanbases, Bioware specifically. What can EA do for them aside from taking a cut of their profits?
