Soma Bringer? Is this part of Nintendo's master plan to enslave the world and pacify its populace through the administration of powerful mind-altering drugs?

I'm not familiar with Japanese Patent Law, so I would like to know if renewing the Pikmin patent is just routine and something that they would have to do or does this mean that a new Pikmin is coming? Because if a new Pikmin is coming I don't think I'll be able to stop smiling for a few weeks.

"Wii Body Controller"
Sounds like the Balance Board to me...
"Pikmin (renewal)"
Well, it just means that they aren't done with the series yet, not really that anything will come of it soon, but still... =)
"Soma Bringer"
Sounds like an RPG title to me...A Monolith Soft RPG... =D

That's . . . actually highly probable. =D
soma 1| noun | Biology the parts of an organism other than the reproductive cells. • the body as distinct from the soul, mind, or psyche.
Sounds RPG-ish to me!

It's going to be a Baten Kaitos pre-prequel that only I will buy.

Interesting... one would hope that the Pikmin renewal isn't simply routine, and actually an indication of a new game. It's gotta happen sometime, preferably sooner rather than later.

Why not just register them with Sony and cut out the middle man, they're all gonna be ripped off eventually.

Those sound like trademarks. Patents cover inventions like a car engine or a drug, trademarks cover names.
Also, with all this speculation about "Soma" how come noone mentioned Castlevania Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow?

So have Nintendo patented real Pikmin to help them manufacture more Wiis in their factories?

I figured Pikmin would be better than ever on Wii. A simple flick of the wrist tosses Pikmin, and for the lazy folk you could put it on a button aswell. Plus, I'm sure they could do something cool with the whistle and gathering controls too.
