Title: Interesting GBA find...
Post by: UncleBob on August 22, 2007, 06:39:09 PM
Take one Game Boy Advance (may substitute one Game Boy Advance SP). Add one Nintendo-branded GBA Wireless Adapter. Power on unit and boot to menu. Insert one original Game Boy (may substitute Game Boy Color) Cartridge partway, just enough to toggle the GB/GBC-GBA switch inside the unit.
Watch the glorious effects.

... so what exactly happens? I don't have a Wireless Adapter so I can't check, but I'm still curious to know the result.

Again, I warned you that it's not very exciting...
Wait... what? I can't tell what was out of the ordinary there, to be honest.... the Legend of Faceball continues, though, it seems.

When you stick the game in, it selects the Japanese option, then displays (what I assume to be) an error message. Remove it and stick it in again, and it selects the English option and displays an error message. It doesn't do this with GBA games.

2 GBAs, 1 GBASP, 1 Game Boy Player (and one GBm, but that doesn't apply) 4 GBA wireless adapters (and one GBm wireless adapter, but again, that doesn't apply. And I have no idea how many original GB/GBC games I've got...

No, I still haven't found the adapter. I'm just saying, now that I've seen it on youtube, I want to see it in real life, too. Then I want to put it on youtube because it was AWESOME!

Well, it would appear that there are those who didn't know the GBA Wireless menu existed or what it's for. I've created a video of that as well, just in case you're one of those people.

I did check the wrong video. What games offer that function? I never looked into the wireless adapter very much. Is it just the NES series, or did I miss something?

I think it's only a few games in the NES Classics series. Super Mario and Dr. Mario come to mind. I think Ice Climber as well.
