Title: Question about XBOX360 ELITE
Post by: Gamebasher on August 12, 2007, 02:42:42 AM
I want to ask if any of you currently own an XBOX360 ELITE, and if it has one or two cooling fans installed?

That is all I want to ask. I can´t get the answer from either EB Games or the internet! There has been this over heating issue with the existing XBOX360 and therefore I find it usefull if Microsoft added an extra fan to solve the problem. If thhey haven´t done that I will buy a pimped XBOX360 to get at the overheating problem which I believe has something to do with the Ring of Death issue.

Ceric: Yes, except for the watercooling. There is 3 coolingfans, and then lights in whatever casing you want it.
I think you can find something on it in Google.

Here is something to keep in mind (A quote from MS):

In regards to our new systems we've done studies, you know. 60% of the time they work, all the time.

+10 cool points to the person who gets that joke reference.

I believe all 360 has 1 fan assembly with 2 fans in that assembly, to help heating issues microsoft installed another heatsink, if your 360 is in for repairs then they will install a 2nd heatsink. Gamebasher if your in the market of a 360 then theres leaked images of a holiday bundle in both the pro and elite models that have forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance included.

Edit: Heres how they look like and all new produced 360 models do have HDMI ports.

It smells like Bigfoot's dick. Here's an FYI = the "Premium" Xbox 360 now includes HDMI, and the core may get it soon as well (they have to sell out of the old, non-HDMI units that they put in the "Core" boxes for this to happen).

So with the addition of HDMI to premium, and taking the recent price cuts into account, the Elite will cost $100 more for 100 GB more hard drive space. Period?

I think the Elite actually comes with the HDMI cable, whereas the Premium doesn't.  That may be worth something to someone.

ouch. Don't HDMI cables go for $60 and up when sold seperately? If so, I guess that makes sense...kinda...

I bought a 3 foot HDMI cable for $20 CAD, for $60 US you can probably get a 15 foot HDMI cable which is probably not likely to be the case of coming in the elite package.

On a random side note, I just looked at the boxes . . . who the hell thought up the tag lines?

"Go Pro"

"Go Big".

Go to monoprice.com or eBay when buying HDMI cables - they are all EXACTLY the same (as long as your comparing the same length of cable), because digital = digital, and you should never pay more than say $15 US for a 6ft cable.

Shielding is for hypochondriacs.
