Title: The Music Volume I Use = 50%
Post by: theaveng on March 19, 2003, 09:12:13 AM
I find fighting, adventure, and shooter games set the music volume WAY too high. I always turn the music volume down to 50%.

Umm...cool. But usually shooters and fighters don't have much talking, soo they just put the music higher.

I always have music at 100% and sound effects at %80-90 percent at all times.

I always leave the settings as default. I couldn't really care less, unless it's got crap music (ala: SMS) or crap sound effects (ala: basically any non-serious racing game)
In which case, I throw a CD in my stereo.

I usually use defaults. The exception is XG3. The music in that game drove me nuts, so I turned it off. The sound effects were cool though, so I just played some music while playing the game.... (NFS HP2 soundtrack actually. )

I agree with XG-3 music also with the Dark rift music in SOA:L, to me its too repetetive so in that case I just throw a CD with heavy metal songs and im set hehe and i have a big stack. Otherwise most games soundtrack are pretty good

True, but they do have Sound Effects. It's hard to hear a baddie sneaking up behind you or around a corner when the music is too loud. That's why right now in Metroid Prime I turned the music down to 50%, so I can hear what's going on around me.

I think it really depends on the game. Stuff like: does the music set a mood well, have I heard the game music enough that I'm sick of it, are there important clues in the SFX, etc.
