Title: Which game???
Post by: Donutt007 on May 03, 2007, 09:04:24 AM
So I recently won a Wii game of my choice...only problem is it's an activision game of my choice....so I get to choose between three.
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam Call of Duty 3 Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Anyone have any experience with these three? I've played M:UA at my buddies house on his 360 and it's fun but I can always go over there and play...plus the 360 version just got new characters.
Thanks a bunch

I'd ask for cash.

Call of Duty 3 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Tony Hawk unfortunately.
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam is a really lackluster poor man's SSX... it's only shining part is the character's voiceovers and attitudes at the beginning of each race.
Call of Duty 3 at LEAST has decent controls and an ok 8-10 hour single player experience, but it lacks online of course...
Any way you can get a copy of GUN out of them? It's on the GC, and is a delightful sandbox-lite 10-15 hour romp! Plus, you can ride a horse!

Well all of my choices are..
Call Of Duty 3 (360/PS3/Wii/Xbox/PS2) Call Of Duty 2 (360/PC only) Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One (PS2/Xbox/NGC) Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (360/PS3/Wii/Xbox/PS2/PSP/GBA/PC) Spider-Man 2 (PS2/Xbox/PSP/NDS/GBA/NGC) Spider-Man: Battle for New York (GBA/NDS) Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam (Wii/NDS/GBA) Tony Hawk’s Project 8 (PS3/360/PS2/PSP) Ultimate Spider-Man (PS2/Xbox/NDS/GBA/NGC/PC) X-Men: The Official Game (360/PS2/Xbox/PC/NDS/GBA/NGC)
No GUN

Downhill Jam
The other two are ports, this was built from the ground up for Wii.

If you like Marvel characters at all get Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. I don't care the platform because in all actuality the Wii controls did not add much so you might be better off getting the 360 version. The game is great. I had a blast running through it and how the ending is done allows for multiple ending considering what you do.
I enjoyed the dialog and the story. Plus I got to know new characters, like Moon Knight who ROCKS at the end with some of his abilities when you learn him. The costumes are cool, WWII Capt. They really pick the universe for characters. It's great.
I can't recommend it enough if you like Marvel characters.
I haven't been able to play the others yet.

I could agree with that Ceric... but wouldn't he just go to his friends if he wanted to play that game?

Out of those 3 I would pick Marvel.

Downhill Jam was fun for a while and since it's free ya might have a good time with it. I thought medal of honor was a better FPS then Call of duty was so I'd say skip on CoD.
I haven't played any of the marvel games though so..can't say there.

I got Marvel Ultimate Alliance. If you like Marvel Comics and have never played any of the X-Men Legends games, it's worth a play. I guess X-Men Legends and this game are all fairly similar, so if you've played a different one, you might not like it. It also relies more on the characters being cool than on actual gameplay. It worked for me well enough.

I say you get any of the 3 and return it to the store and get 50 bucks for it, then go buy something more interesting such as Super Paper Mario. But if that isn't a viable solution I would personally go with Downhill Jam. It's like SSX on a skateboard.

Definitely go with Call of Duty 3 for XBox 360. Downhill Jam is an absolute piece of garbage, worse than any other Hawk console game, period.
