Quote Nintendo will be a major participant in this year's Tokyo Game Show, Kotaku has learned. This will be the first time since the show's inception in 1996 that Nintendo will participate with a booth at the show.
Traditionally, Nintendo has sat out the Tokyo Game Show. But this TGS is going to be different: Nintendo will have an actual booth. A big booth at that, which is one of the reasons why TGS is four days this year instead of three.
Why Nintendo's sudden appearance? Square-Enix's Dragon Quest IX. Every time a Dragon Quest game has been shown at TGS, the event belongs to DQ. With Nintendo landing a major coup and getting DQIX on the DS (and it's gonna sell a gazillion copies), the company has decided to put in face time.
Rest easy, the DQIX demo will apparently be available via DS download. That means no waiting for three hours plus! An official announcement is expected in the next couple of weeks.
This is gonna be a BIG one!!! Expect all kinds of game announcement and demoes to be shown since DQIX will draw all the crowds into(or near) the Nintendo booth. No more need to "Wait For Spaceworld"(which hasn't happend for quite some time) cause it looks like with the success of the Wii & DS Nintendo is finally gonna go all out and spend some of that $$$$ that the DS & Wii have been bringing in by the truck loads. This could be Nintedo pulling the plug on life support for PS3 in Japan in they can completely overshadow the entire show with offerings for the Wii & DS.
Let the speculation begin; what do you expect/hope to see?

Considering we haven't seen, or even heard much of, SSBB lately... that's very unlikely. I imagine the game will be there, and hopefully we will get to see a new character or two, considering the last one that was shown off was Fox back in November of 2006 (six months ago).

Well, being that this show isn't until October, I'm hoping we hear about all these games well before then. I'm hoping there will be announcements about games we have never heard of at that point. It'll be a little over a month away from the Wii launch anniversary so I'm hoping Nintendo pulls out all the stops. By then, the Wii should be in 10 million homes and the DS is 50 million.

I think some info on SSBB is a must. At least on when we'll get to see more characters (if not a release date, but who are we kidding?). Plus, Prime 3 and Galaxy should have some good info there since they're supposed to be released in the fairly distant future.

Isn't this usually in September or something? Honestly, by that time I want Mario Galaxy in my trembling, happy hands. I know that's not practical. I just want that game way too much.
I'm feeling a severe lack of interesting Wii games right now (in part because I don't have mine with me to buy and play Super Paper Mario with), so I'm up for seeing anything they'll show.

I want Super Mario Galaxy to be Nintendo's big Summer or early fall release...which means I don't need it shown at the Tokyo Game Show.
I want other things shown.
Brawl is a must. That game needs to be the big end of the year game for 2007. I don't care if people think it is impractical, we need the game ASAP.
Day of Disaster is a must show Super Mario Kart would be nice. (I still want Nintendo Smash Kart but oh well.)
But what I really want to see is Battalion Wars Wii with great online play.

I'd love to have Metroid Prime 3 before September. No real point in showing it at TGS since the series isn't too popular in Japan.
I honestly don't see Brawl coming out until next year which sucks because I want that game the most.
