And a full-on Wii exclusive title.
Let it not be said that EA isn't doing their part for the Wii.

This also confirms a Wii microphone is in the works and will be used.
After all, the press release says that players test their dancing and SINGING skills.
This also means that the mic could be a head set. I mean, how can you dance with the Wii and nunchuk while handling a mic?

Very true.
Screens remind me of Nightmare Before Christmas. Also, you cal clearly see alcoholic drinks at the bar behind the dancer.
That's a first for a dancing game...

Now that you mentioned NBC, could Boogie be as in "The Boogie monster"? The latest Billy and Mandy movie show the Boogie monster as being a LITERAL Boogie monster, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the intention behind the characters in the game.
The characters look too monster like to be just a normal set of dancers.

I know I would need (more than)a few drinks to play this game, especially when other people are around.

Meh...looks like something more geared toward the casuals, but I can't say I'm completely disinterested. The art style is intriguing (it does have a Tim Burton feel to it), and I'm curious as to how they're going to to incorporate the dancing and singing.

Oh and I don't need alcohol to let go of my inhibitions. I can make a fool of myself without the need of alcohol, thank you very much!

So with Boogie, we have two games that supposedly use the microphone (the first one being High school musical).
Someone commented in the Go Nintendo article that they should have used the Miis for the music videos. That would've been awesome, but that's something that Nintendo needs to do first.
BRING BACK TALENT STUDIO NINTENDO!
EDIT: You heard it people, HE wanted to hear it. So don't bitch at me about it...
I was going to say...
But I thought black people were supposed to have good rhythm and only white people need alcohol to enjoy themselves...
There I said it!

That's an unfair stereotype.
Black and Latino people have EVERY right to be just as awkward and uncoordinated as the average white person.
Asians, though, are born knowing every last intricacy of rhythm and dexterity and thus have no excuse for not being excellent dancers.

This should be an online enabled title hell even for the sole purpose of sharing videos that you recorded in the game to your friends over WiFi now that would be awesome. If that happened I'm sure there will be crazy posts on the fun house thread of how people are awesome or how much the suck.
I think that since the Wii came out it made EA to wake up and get off their asses to make awesome games again.

Just FYI, I (and all "black" people) have excellent rhythm, and the alcohol is merely to inhance the fun factor by dulling our sense of awareness for our surrounding and to numb the pain inside that is passed down from our ancestors and the trauma that they have had to endure over past generations. :tear;
Pap you are so insensitive, and now I hope this thread gets locked now. ;_;
Are you happy now Kush?

You've obviously never seen P-Diddy dance. He sucks ass.
But yes, as a black person, I can say without any prejudice that black people do have excellent rhythm.

That was a ridiculous reveal. It leaves SO many things unanswered!
It mentions players singing but doesn't mention a Mic/Headset!
It shows nunchuckish diagrams but doesn't explain how they work!
It doesn't even attempt to describe any actual specifics on how the game is played, just says "dancing" and lets us flounder with the rest.
It links to a German site as a source, confounding us monolinguals.
Was that even an official reveal?

P.S. Now... about that "Sunshine" game EA?

Whatever it was P-Diddy was doing on the dance floor(that some call dancing) doesn't mean he wasn't atleast doing it to the beat. Therefore the point stands.

P.S. Now... about that "Sunshine" game EA?
Well, when Disney announced High School Musical the game, they mention that there will be singing but no word of a Wii Microphone. The rumors came from a store list which lists HSM as being bundled with a microphone. So for now its safe to assume that a mic will be released soon.
As for the specifics, if this is official, EA will more than likely make a press release soon. Hang in there!

Of course, with two threads practically destroyed, it will be a wonder if this one ultimately survives.
On topic: I've never played a dance game or a karaoke game, but I'm glad to see EA cashing in on their popularity and bringing something that sounds really cool to the Wii at the same time.

Quote Caballero noted that the team has not yet made a concrete decision as to how to how the game's singing component will work, but it is likely that players will use a microphone in order to facilitate a karaoke-like function.
Quote Boogie is expected to contain between 40 and 50 licensed tracks; Caballero danced along to KC and the Sunshine Band's "That's the Way (I Like It)."
Quote Moving the nunchuk actually moves the player's character in real time along with the nunchuk's motions. Simultaneously, the character's head and eyes follow the remote's pointer, allowing players to add an extra layer of personality to the dancing action.
