Title: Wii sport baseball question~help!!!
Post by: nana_wong77 on February 03, 2007, 12:35:17 AM
I played Wii sport baseball with my friend yestersay, I used guest Mii and he used his Mii with thousand points. My maximum speed of pitch is about 140km/h, but my friend's maximum speed of pitch is about 155km/h. Also, it seems my guest Mii's batting power is weaker than his Mii's. When he pitched a straight and slow ball to me several times, it's difficult to bat a homer or far ball for guest Mii. And the ball I batted was low and short. Also, it seems his team's defence is better than my team's. After I changed to my friend's other Mii(my friend has two Miis), homer was so easy to be batted. Also, my team's defence is better than before. And my maximum speed of pitch is up to 153km/h.
So, my main questions are (1) Is maximum speed of pitch related to the points? Would you mind telling me your average speed of pitch?
(2)Are batting power and defence also related to points?
thanks for answering my questions ^^

I don't think it's related, we've been throwing the same speeds independent of our points. We throw ~150km/h balls with zero points.

Kind of bugs me that the speed also seems independent of how hard you actually throw(no... don't throw) the wiimote. I know damned well I can throw an actual baseball 80-85 mph, but no matter how hard I try, if I go through my full motion I can't crack 70... meanwhile sitting down and flicking my wrist I can top 80 on a regular basis.

In America we don't throw nothing in "km/h". Go back to France!

LMAO. I was freaking out wondering how you managed to get 155mph until I saw km.

Yeah, I didn't know they changed it.. they should have done it in Canada too since we have the metric system.

Bottom Line: Wii Sports Rules.......Nintendo might rip us off on other games but this one is worth every penny.
Enough of my BS here are my answers to your Qs:
Q: (1) Is maximum speed of pitch related to the points? Would you mind telling me your average speed of pitch?
A: (1) I cannot answer your question directly....but I have noticed the more spastic the movement the quicker the pitch. As for the points Nintendo has a secret file just for spastic twitches and rates them: the more spastic the higher score.
Q: (2)Are batting power and defence also related to points?
A: (2) Yes, but remember if there is a super-spastic newcomer in Wii sports they will have the ability to surmount any amount of points.
Wii sports is the best game ever because it makes a spastic person like me feel better inside.
Notice: This reply was not a direct result of persons inhibitions unleased due to a result of alcohol.
Truth be told: the only reason why we never converted to metric is because we are proud of our stubbroness.
