Title: Wii Media Center X
Post by: Shecky on December 30, 2006, 09:39:29 AM
Has anyone tried this?

Wii Media Center X

A friend just pointed me to it, and I haven't had a chance to read up on it or try it out.

Man.

I was thinking about this exact sort of thing the other day, wishing I could stream my MP3s over to the Wii.

I might give this a shot later on.

I just tried it. It has potential. I was checking my files on my Wii browser, not bad, unfortunately "Music functionality does not yet work on the Wii or PS3" which I eagerly want.

Yeah, this is pretty worthless until the music functionality starts working.

Yeah I was mainly interested in the music.  Still, this is a good start, and I have hopes for this program to come along.

ya, it's not the program, it's the fact that the beta version of the Wii browser doesn't support mp3's yet

Is there no way to stream using a flash based mp3 player?  I am not for sure, but if this is done, mp3 support isn't directly needed in the browser is it?

Wait, so all this does is set your computer up as a little web server?  Blah, that's far from a hack as far as I'm concerned.  I want my photo channel to stream stuff off of my hard drive.

It's not supposed to be a hack. It might be useful, but it "Pale"s in comparison to actual programs like XBox Media Center, or the standard XBox 360 dashboard. The Wii was meant for games...and hopefully FREE DVD playback later down the road.

it's a way to view your video's on your computer on your Wii

and listen to all your mp3's from your computer down the road
