Title: HDTV component cables and game issues.

Ok,i have this little 32 HDTV and i cant play mega man x collection with the component cables.if i switch it back to the composite cables it works ok,but the strange thing is that i get no video just some flickering graphics,save the main menu i can see that ok,it happened with my GC with the component cables too,and i happens with the ps1 games on my ps2 hooked with componet cables too.
any help?

Does setting 480p output in the Wii settings also mess up your video? Are you sure it's HDTV? (Dumb question maybe, but your symptoms are identical to trying to push 480p on a TV that doesn't accept it).
If so but you're sure you have an HDTV, is there a possibility your video input on the TV hasn't been set to 480p? I'm not sure if all HDTVs automatically detect a progressive signal.

yes it auto detect the signal,but the strange thing is that it happens with all ps1 games(with component cables runing on a ps2) and the megaman x collection for gamecube,same as wii,i tried changing the settings on the wii to 480i but happens the same.

list the make and model number of your tv Does this happen with all content run from a component cable? Such as from a dvd player, or ps2 games? Or does the tv sometimes correctly display content delivered via a component cable?
It could be the tv, it could be the cable, it could be the connection jack or it could be the systems.

I have an issue similar to this with my TV. My TV, a 36" Philips standard CRT set, has two sets of composite inputs. One ONLY accepts progressive singnals, the other ONLY accepts non-progressive. So for a game like Trauma Center or Rayman I can boot the Wii just fine and see my 480p signal but loading a game will cause my TV to do exactly what you describe before going blank and displaying "no signal"
It's a real PITA... enough for me to be looking to get a new TV or a switch capable of splitting the output of the Wii to the two different inputs of the TV. I think I'd be able to get a swich inteded for 2 inputs and one output and just hook it up backwards...

A lot of older HDTVs have dedicated 1080i/480p inputs...and they suck.

the problem is only with ps1 games runing on a ps2 with component cables,and with mega man x collection on gamecube and wii runing both on comp video cables.
