Title: Virtual Console R-Type: How many levels does it have?

I've tried to find the answer to this question, but have had no luck in doing so, so hopefully I can get a definitive answer here on the forums: How many levels does the the TurboGrafx-16 version of R-Type released on the Virtual Console (in the U.S.) have?

I read on neogaf that whereas the Japanese release of the game came in two parts (you had to buy the second half of the game's levels seperately), we in the US have the original U.S. release of the game, meaning we buy one edition that includes the complete package unlike the doubly-dipped Japanese consumers.
