Wrong...With the Beatles there is no such thing as "the best" song...All of their stuff is just that good...

The Beatles are a very talented band though I tend to prefer their older pop stuff. Think Red Album as opposed to Blue. I hold the theory that a lot of their later weird songs only became big hits because they were by the Beatles. The Beatles could have recorded Happy Birthday and people would have ate it up.
One thing I like though is that when the Beatles were active they were both critically and commercially the top band. In other words all was right with music for a little while. Have we ever seen that since? It seems that often the best bands are never the most popular while the number single is often a really horrible novelty tune that no one cares about six months later.

They used to play that while reading out people's birthdays on a local kids show called "The Buckshot Show" - imagine Krusty the Clown only with a cowboy suit and less drug problems. The Buckshot Show is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this year (though it hasn't been on air since the late 90s). I don't know why I feel the need to share it, it was a slice of my childhood.
As for the Beatles, I love all kinds of their songs. I'm told I wanted to listen to the White Album like every day as a pre-schooler. Back in the U.S.S.R, Rocky Racoon and The Little Piggies were my favourites. I learned how to use the record player just so I could listen to it.
I really liked Sgt. Pepper in the 90s and I recently heard Revolver which is cool too. I wasn't into their early stuff, but I got my hands on Anthology I and although it's still not my favourite, I've developed more of an appreciation for it.

I got into the Beatles, right after a breakup, i would listen to more and more songs, and eventually i got out of a depression. So, they're a pretty special band for me. For all fo the songs that iv heard, i pretty much know all the words, which is a phenomenon for me because I usually used to just listen to the melody of songs growing up. Afterwords, i really tend to like British invasion bands. I was looking for some songs from the Kinks earlier on today.

Okay, so it's not THAT bad, some of the songs sound okay, but most of it is garbage. Thumbs = down so far, let's see how it turns out.

Hey, it actually got better! It's still not awesome, but some songs turned out pretty good. I'd say 3/4 of songs were over mixed/mixed poorly, while the remaining fourth actually turned out nice. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is easily my favorite on there, since the mixing is more subtle and really adds to the song. Basically, the songs that are least changed are the best, while everything else basically sucks. That doesn't really speak well for the album as a whole.
Oh, and for the record Let it Be is their best song, and Abbey Road is their best album.

The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I listed to the album on something other than headphones today and it was amazing. Still some over-production and poor choices here and there, but over all I basically love it. Huh.
