Title: IE 7 & NWR Forums
Post by: BlackNMild2k1 on November 28, 2006, 06:37:54 PM
I don't know how many of you have upgraded to IE 7, which is much better than the past IE, but there is a script that NWR forums is running that doesn't mesh too well with IE 7 and constantly causes a very long hang-up for the window and any other websites I have tabbed within it.

Has anyone else upgraded or even still use IE, and if you have, have you experienced this same problem?

I havnt used ie in ages, Grey Ninja got me on the firefox bandwagon ages ago, it seems as though mozilla has eclipsed ie totaly. I just got 2.0. Having IE 7 doesnt bar you from having other browsers, so i suggest just run the forums in another browser.

I use FF on my other computer (the one not in my bedroom), but FF makes this computer freeze. No one has figured out what is making it freeze, but I don't think anyone really gave it their all either. I actually prefer FF since it gets rid of the ever so annoying intellitext, but I have to make do with what works.

I stay as far of IE as I can....

if FF freezes the computer, try updating to FF2.0 (which seems to fix A LOT of things) or try using Opera

Its not just FF that freezes my computer.
certain torrent d/l's will freeze my computer after a while
opening certain threads on certain sites will freeze my computer too.

I'll give opera a try but I don't think that will solve the real problem, which has yet to be discovered.

Sounds like your network drivers or hardware is messed up. Or do you have Norton running?

No I have McAfee. It came free with Comcast subscription.

You think it may have something to do with my wireless card? D-Link DI-524.
Should I try updating the network drivers again? It has been a while, and I don't really remember how.

I have IE 7 but only because It was in microsoft update.  I only use if if I need to, which isn't very often, usually when dealing with McAfee

I just downloaded Firefox 2 and then downloaded the tinseltown theme and my internet is Christmas ready.

I use IE at work since I do a lot of web development and that's what my company decided will be our base model.  I have IE7 and I don't have any problems with the new site.  I'm on Version 7.0.5730.11
