Title: Need an SD Card for your Wii? Incredible deal...
Post by: BranDonk Kong on November 21, 2006, 11:00:29 AM
...I was actually going to recommend buy.com in the "tiny discs" thread, but they rarely beat newegg.com for a lot of stuff. Well, they've actually got an awesome deal right now.
2GB Kingston SD card for $30 - with a 5$ rebate....oh, and $10 off if you use Google Checkout. That brings it to $15 with the rebate, and only $20 without. You can also get free shipping (budget 7-9 days). I just placed an order, I recommend anyone looking for an SD card to do exactly the same.

Ha, I was about to post this, beat me to the punch. Obviously took advantage of it, it's a steal. slickdeals.net kicks arse.
Worth noting: a couple months ago, I got a new 80gb harddrive for the same price. Flash still has a ways to go yet...

Link doesn't work. I think I might try that Kingston thing though.

Dunno what was wrong with that but copy/paste should work.

But even before the rebate, the slickdeals one is a better deal because of google check out. Doubling memory for $6 is worth it, and after rebate the difference become negligible.

2GB = 2x1GB. Also, you're going to get trampled if you even look at a Wal-Mart on Friday.

My Wii can't read my memory card, its SD and theres a ton of pics on it. Has anyone else found thier memory cards don't work?
I wonder if you have to have those Nintendo brand ones that they were talking about a few days ago. That would suck if you could only use thier memory cards and nothing else.

Brand should not matter, unless yours is totally generic or your camera doesn't take .jpg or .jpeg files.

I used a sandisk microSD card with SD adapter from my cellphone and it worked great. Pictures & MP3s worked.

dude goto www.ratscollectibles.com and click on the Amazon.com search bar and you save money everytime. Its a really cool deal. Make it your homepage and use it everytime you shop amazon.
It doesnt work for Google cuz their publishing deals suck ballz and I cant get good deals with them.

Even though I already used it... this is in the TOS and concerns me:
"You authorize us to confirm that your Payment Instrument is in good standing with the issuing financial institution, including, but not limited to, by submitting a request for a payment authorization and/or a low dollar credit and/or debit to the Payment Instrument, in accordance with the relevant card association rules. You also authorize us to obtain from time to time a credit report and/or to otherwise make credit or other background inquiries as we deem appropriate to evaluate your registration for or continued use of the Service"
Don't they need a SSN to run that? Hasn't the CC run the check already, why would they have to run additional ones?

If you'd like to save the 10 bux, they also have a SimpleTech 1GB for $5... http://www.buy.com/prod/simpletech_1gb_secure_digital_memory_card/q/loc/14982/10374095.html?adid=17662
Props to slickdeals, as usual

Seems like you only get the $20 from Google Checkout if the order is over $50. Am I missing something? I'm only seeing a final price of around $30.

You get $20 off for Google checkout because the price is $54.86. Then you get another $21 off for mail-in rebates. So the effective final price is $13.86.
If you look right below where you're currently looking you'll see the Google logo and it will show you the price of $13.86.

anybody know any good deals for Canada? Buy.com won't ship here. It's really interesting that when you make your account for buy.com you have to pick which country you are in from a drop down list and the only country that it will ship to is the US... If you pick any other country it says "buy.com doesn't ship to <insert country name>". What a joke.

What do you expect? Google is one big data mining operation, everything that's visible to the user is just different ways to get that data.

You are right....I did find a 4gb card that the Wii supports (the only reason I know because it works in my Wii ): 4GB 150X QMEMORY SECURE DIGITAL CARD.
I found mine at this website: http://www.flash-memory-store.com/qmemory-sd-150x-4gb.html
Some of you probably already know this by now and think it's old news....but its good for anyone who didn't already know and wants to put down around $70 for more room . And let me know if any of you all find this card for a cheaper price because I may want to buy one in the future for my brothers Wii (that did't sound right).
