Here's some new info via Magicbox...
Up to 100 Miis can stay in your Mii plaza
The Photo Channel can display a maximum of 1000 photos. If your SD card has more than 1000 photos, you can reorganize the way the photos is displayed
The Photo Channel can display JPEG images up to 8192x8192 resolution, or QuickTime videos up to 848x480 resolution You cannot save or overwrite any photos or videos stored on SD cards
Software downloaded from Wii Shop Channel is licensed to you, not sold.
You cannot send photos from your Wii console to PC or cellphone users
Parental Control feature does not apply to GameCube games
If you use the messaging feature on the Wii console, Nintendo may monitor your usage and share certain information as required by law
Initial recommended distance for using the Wii Remote is 3 to 8 feet from the sensor bar. Direct sunlight and various light sources can interfere or make the Wii Remote operation less optimal.
By formatting the Wii Shop Channel from the Wii System menu, you will clear all records of your transactions and rights to download software
Adjusting the speaker and rumble settings will affect all Wii remote currently connected to the Wii console.
What this about formatting the Wii Channel and not "having rights to download software". I assume they mean downloaded software.

It's a shame that rumble and sound can't be controlled individually.
There are other good and bad points here, but that's the only one that really strikes me.

new info from 18 Days Wii cannot play laserdiscs Wii cannot read SD cards whlle they are still in your camera Parental Control does not apply to custom soundtracks Wii does not change colours in warm water.

Someone in a Journalistic position should ask these 2 questions:
"If you buy a Wii at launch, and also buy VC games, then decide to sell your launch Wii in favor of a DVD capable Wii(or a different color Wii) later on, is it possible to take your downloaded content away from the old console and attach it to the new one?"
&
"Why would you tie downloaded content to the actual machine instead of just keeping it attached to an online account, much like how your 'My Nintendo' account keps track of your registered games online?"

Good questions! I believe I heard on IGN that you will be able to transfer games to a new console, but it will actually require a call to customer service (and probably serial numbers or something). I agree that it should be tied to an account instead of a console.

That one's easy. You could tell your friends the info for your account, and they could download any games you have for free.

but isn't your account tied to you Mii which you attach to you Wiimote? That would mean that they need a wiimote with your account info attached to it in order to to access your account? and if not I'm sure that you could only log into a friends Wii under a 'guest' account therefore not actually being able to really keep anything on the host Wii.
There's a couple different ways that they could handle it, but I shouldn't have to physically drag my Wii around with me just to play one of my VC games at a friends house or vice versa. It would also enable some try b4 you buy play.

Heh, I think people are overlooking this one when it holds drastically more significance than the others.
In order for the Wii to play Quicktime movies, it means they must have licensed the codec from Apple. By contrast, the 360 and PS3 will not be able to play QT movies.
Yeah, it's just a codec license, but it means my two favorite companies in the world are collaborating.
Now, if only we can get an iTunes Store Wii channel...

I'm pretty confident you will have some sort of account set up with Nintendo and your Wii will be tied to that account. The format blurb from the manual is a way of unlinking that wii from your account so whoever you sell it to doesn't have access. I'm sure linking a new Wii to the same account won't be that hard. Nintendo just wanted to do away with log ins and what not. This way your Wii serial number (or some identification number) acts as your login and the process is invisible to the end user.

Oh, thanx for clearing that up. But I still think you should be able to access you VC games from a friends Wii through a temporary guest account of some sort. But its not a big deal.

I'm scared that if I like unplug my wii after a bought a whole bunch of VC games it will erase the account info and not let me re-download games
