Title: New Call of Duty 3 videos for Wii
Post by: GoldenPhoenix on November 09, 2006, 09:48:40 PM
IGN's newest videos of the Wii version. I don't know about you guys but those visuals look quite good and dare I say somewhat comparable to the 360's (with maybe a few less details, such as player models). It runs silky smooth and I think it does show that Wii isn't as graphically handicapped when compared to Xbox 360 at 480p.

Dang it, now I'm tempted. How soon will some of these Wii games go down to $20-$30 so I can justify getting them all?

Well hopefully not for awhile because if they do drop that means they aren't selling as well

Great, now I'm torn between my selfish desires and my dedication to the greater Wii good.

I love the sense of mayhem in some of the later videos, of towns under attack with troops running everywhere as explosions are going off. Really nice... not sure if I will pick this one up, but like ShyGuy it has hit my "budget watch" list if I ever see it discounted.

I have a rational fear that I might love the FPS experience on Wii so much that, after completing Red Steel, I go out and buy every other FPS available for the console from that day forward...
I used to f*cking LOVE FPSs but gradually fell away from them after they grew stale. I'm worried that the Wii might rejuvenate my affection for them.

Dammit, dammit, dammit...
I made the mistake of watching all of IGN's CoD Wii videos and I'm thinking this game just snuck onto my launch list.
As I watch the player playing the game, I can clearly see that he's having a vastly easier time with gunning down enemies than with a mouse and keyboard (which I've played with in the past).
My 3rd party only lineup is just getting better and better...

I'm on the fence because I really enjoyed CoD2 but that was for PC, now that it isn't on PC I have no idea if I want to get it. I've been leaning towards the 360 version because it feels like the "complete" package (Mainly in the way of visuals, even if the gap isn't that huge), but I also hate FPS aiming when using a control pad (One problem I had with Gears of War too). So yeah, I'm not sure what to do because the Wii versions moves beautifully!

NP had CoD3 as one of their staff picks as well.
I think this and Red Steel may satisfy very different FPS needs. RS will be the "melee combat/precision" FPS while CoD will be the "shoot everything and drive vehicles" FPS.
