No rumble in the virtual console N64 games and no rumble in the Classic Controller.

There probably just not supporting the interface to the controller packs.  Except for emulation on the memory paks.
Though that does stink in a way.

Not surprised...I'll miss it for Starfox 64, but that's really about it...

How am I going to know about that one bombable hole by that tree where the laughing jackasses sit in Kakariko Village?

That's it, I'm not buying a Wii anymore.

Lame.  Sounds to me like an oversight, much like how there is no really ideal way to play N64 games on any of the Wii controller options.  Don't throw out your old N64.

The fact that the classic controller doesn't have rumble is weird.  What is someone wants to make a game on the Wii that uses that controller and wants rumble?  The whole thing seems a lot like the typical Nintendo "we personally don't care about it so we'll completely neglect it" routine.

I guess we can't make fun of Sony for this anymore.

Really was rumble that big on the N64? I hardly use my rumble pak. Also I play Oot with a wavebird, it doesnt bother me..

Rumble's something nice to have but when I play on my Wavebird I don't miss it. Overall I think its overrated in terms of importance. The nunchuk doesn't have rumble either does it? Perhaps all Wiimote extensions are incapable of rumble?

I loved my rumble packs on the N64. Back then it was something new. Now-a-days it's something standard. I agree with The Traveller, after playing with a WaveBird, I find that I don't miss the force feedback. Sure, it's a nice feature - but it's certainly not essential to have a complete gaming experience.

I played through Star Fox 64 recently in preperation for something or other, and I couldn't find the rumble pack. Not. The. Same.

I know this is a pretty terrible thing to hope for, but I hope they deliberately gimped the classic controller so they could sell a super deluxe N64 controller replica later.

I'm just hoping for a patch for rumble support using Cube controllers. I doubt they would do this, as it would take away from the classic controller, but one can hope.

That's disapointing.  I liked having rumble in games. ):

OMFG OUTRAGE!!!!!

Sure, I only play with wavebirds and don't miss rumble one iota, and there's the fact that Wii games can support GC controllers and their rumble, but still, OUTRAGE!

Good thing I still have my N64, in full working order.
I really like rumble, but this doesn't really bother me.  If it's in the Wii-mote, that's good enough for me.

You're right Ian, because soooooo many N64 games put rumble to good use.

It's nostalgic. That's why it matters. That's why this whole virtual console thing is supposed to be a success. There's no excuse.

Personally I don't care because I won't be downloading the overpriced games anyway. But for those who are, you ought to demand a little bang for your six bucks.

Uuuuuhhh...The N64 games, which are the ones that use the rumble, cost 10 bucks, You are probably thinking of the NES and SNES games, which don't use the rumble at all.

Also, unless the rumble was used in an unique manner, I doubt the rumble added to the nostalgia factor. Starfox 64 maybe, considering it was the first game to use it and all.

Oh yeah. So they cost even more. Well, let me tell you. If I even remember that the games don't have rumble by the time I get around to checking out the virtual console, I might be pretty teed off. Put them apples on your social networking site and sit on it.

There is still a possibility rumble could be added later on (unless there is a technological reason why it is not compatible) with a firmware update. At the moment though the only N64 game coming out is Mario 64, which did not utilize rumble, so let's not freak out until there is actually a game out that utilized it (like Star Fox 64).

The classic controller may not have rumble but doesn't it have the option of being attached to the Wii-mote which DOES?
I just don't buy this. Possibly a misunderstanding. I mean maybe whoever gave him this information meant the initial VC games wouldn't have rumble which makes perfect sense as none of them originally supported it.
But I can't imagine that when Starfox and Oot are released the rumble would be left out. But if it is, I'm sure they'll be re-released later with it.
Does seems like Nintendo is kind of half-assing the VC right now waiting for it to really catch on before they put too much effort into it.

Well even though theres the Wii remote rumble I don't know if they could program to initialize the rumble or since everything is technically a straight port that Mario 64 did not have rumble support so maybe we should wait for StarFox 64 for a pure confirmation. Also some people just might end up resting the Wii remote on their lap rather than attaching it to the controller and I don't think people want to feel something rumbling on their lap or crotch area.... hmm maybe Nintendo has made a new secret with the Wii crotch rumble lol.

I was thinking the same thing as VGrevolution.  They could always add "rumble" later, whether it be an overall emulation tweak or asking you to re-download the game.

However, if the Classic Controller doesn't have the hardware to give you force feedback, which I believe is the case, you're only going to feel it if you can use GameCube controllers for N64 games.  And not the WaveBird, but wired ones, and seeing as how I've cleaned up my room for maximum playing space with the Wii next to the TV, wired GCN controllers are out of the question anyway.

Because of the inconsistencies between the original Nintendo 64 controller and both the Classic Controller and GameCube controller (I'm looking at you, C-buttons...and no, C-stick doesn't cut it, for the umpteenth time...and position of Z...etc.) I'm thinking that most N64 games will actually have to be tweaked regardless (instead of straight-up emulation of an exact copy of the original code).

Well yeah the controls for N64 will obviously have to be tweaked a little due to the Z and C-stick/left analog stick issue but other than that its probably the same game code used. I wonder how many original new VC games we will see because Nintendo said that VC games can be new and original content as well so I assume those will make full use of the VController or NGC pad.
