Title: I need your help please . . .
Post by: Darkheart on November 06, 2006, 07:56:44 AM
So I am taking this audio class in college right now and we have video clips from several famous movies that are completely muted. Our job is to resync it in with new score and sound effects. Now I am not sure if some are you familiar with the famous internet kill bill scene done with Mario and classic NES sounds but by chance my video clip is Kill Bill and I would like to do the same thing.
This is where my problem lies, I am having a HARD time finding decent NES game Sound effects and music from them (no midis please). The quality has to be pretty decent as well because I am getting graded on that in an audio class for sure.
So if you guys know of any sites or sources where I can find some NES game music and sound effects that would be awesome!
Thanks a bunch~

If you are not adverse to ROMs, I would suggest going that route and then using a program called Total Recorder to sample the needed audio from whatever games you like (it records whatever audio is currently being played through your computer).

You can get music all by itself at zophar.net. They have a variety of NES sound emulators and a bunch of music ripped directly from the games. Might make it easier to isolate the music from the sounds, using Arbok's idea for actually recording it.
I d'know about sounds, though. If you want Mario sounds, I think you can find some at classicgaming.com/tmk.

I've been looking for an easy-to-use music/sound recorder for the PC. Is Total Recorder what I want? Does it really record anything? Is it free/timed demo/shareware/buyable online?
