Title: Perfect Dark Zero Map Pack #2
Post by: Nick DiMola on November 06, 2006, 01:22:56 AM
This map pack just came out and I suggest everyone who has this game or knows anyone who has this game downloads the pack NOW. It's free and features totally redesigned and re-envisioned Facility and Temple levels. Both levels are gorgeous. Both are a little on the dark side but easily the best maps in the game.

On a negative note, it makes you realize how slow you move in PD0 compared to the old PD and Goldeneye especially.

Yeah I thought the darkness issues were solely because of my 34cm tv but it seems not. I enjoyed the trip down memory lane but its probably not enough to get me playing this game again when I still have my 64 connected with Perfect Dark inserted.

To bad I traded in my copy of Perfect Dark Zero already.
That game has been collecting dust for so long.
It seems a bit late to be releaseing map packs now exspecially with Gears of War coming out this week.

I think it's pretty cool.  It might seem "too late" but when you look at how the life of some of these games has been extended through cheap or free addon packs, you can really see the upside of the marketplace.

From a publisher point of view it makes sense too since it discourages people to sell their used games, without resorting to some sort of DRM scheme.

It's a win-win.  Plus: Complex and Temple, yay!  Finally time to dust off my copy.

They really did a nice job with the maps. I'd love to see them continually releasing "classic" maps and keeping interest in the game. I was willing to buy these two maps, but they offered them for free which is awesome. PD0 really wasn't that bad, and I think the multiplayer is still fun when you have a few friends over.

Hmm I might consider this a little later when it drops down to platinum hits status since the platinum hits version has that map pack in.

I miss the doors in the 'Ruin' map. I loved being able to close the doors behind me just to cause frustration to whomever was following me.
