Title: Mp3 and Wii
Post by: Rocketsastrostexans on November 04, 2006, 01:55:36 PM
This Question may have been answered but can the Wii play Mp3 disks?
A Wii music channel? I know it won't play dvds but it would be a waste if it did not include support for reading cd-roms with mp3s and photos on them. I know I'll know in a couple weeks.
Please let me know if you know -Thanks!!!

No...However, in the Photo Channel you can play MP3s stored on your SD card...

And better yet it appears that Excite Truck may allow you to have customizable soundtracks!

Where'd you hear that? Because I've been hoping for that.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they added a music channel in later.

On the "Sound" menu for Excite Truck, there is an "SD" option. It is grayed out on the Wii kiosks, because there is (presumably) no SD in there. After reading this on the Internet, I made sure to look for it while playing at a kiosk and it is there.

They should just make a Wii channel which connects to the iTunes music store and be done with it.

They should just have an MP3 channel because it was the only damned thing that was good about the Xbox. Well, when the game wasn't from EA and it properly played your tracks. And because iTunes is just more DRM bullscat.
