Although, a good question is why they decided to change his overall character as you can see in the trailer, hes kinda jumpy compared to his Melee counterpart. Is he supposed to be the Fox from StarFox:Command? And will it be possible to play the original Melee version?

Same, and I was glad that there is only going to be one Samus after all, according to the Smash Bros site. I wouldn't mind a alternate costume option so that one can be able to play as the old look to some of the more changed characters, like Link or Fox, but it's hardly something that really matters at all in the grand scheme of things.
